XBOX ONE ELITE CONTROLLER LB BUMPER POPS OUT - XBOX GT: GsQ SYZYGY

MY SOLUTION WAS TO TAPE THE BUTTON BACK INTO PLACE.

I am not quite sure where I should place this post. So I am putting it here for now.

I am an avid gears of war player. I do YouTube, occasionally stream, do small and local tournaments, so basically I play a lot.

While playing online my left bumper just popped out.

Now at first I was frightened that it was broken and had fallen out, but this is not the case.

after looking online, I saw some videos of the regular Xbox One controller, but it looks as though the Bumpers are designed differently (Maybe to fix other problems)

my bumper looks as though it has a hook on the outer edge of it on the inside

I think by applying to much pressure to the button, the hook either popped off of what ever is holding it in place, or due to the bouncing up after being pressed down rapidly the piece holding it in broke off.

Regardless the reason. the bumper popped out.

the bumper still works (thank God) but as I play it will pop out to far which makes it nearly impossible to push back down.

well after hours of pushing, pulling, applying pressure to various parts of the bumper the solution is simple.

Tape.

it keeps the button down, and doesn't allow it pop out.

I don't think I will be buying another Elite controller. I was fortunate to catch this issue before it caused further damage to the controller.

But this controller is supposed to cater to people like me who play a lot. borderline professional.

it seems so well put together and sturdy. but I am not sure how long all the other stuff will last.

& honestly I do not want to have my controller looking like a mummy with tape across every inch to hold it together without it falling apart.

I will comment back here if any other problems follow.

Concerning the Elite Controller

Xbox Elite controller is an excellent controller, but i feel like the LB+RB buttons can use an upgrade.

I went through 2 elite controller where my LB button just snapped loose.

I constantly use LB for games that provide the "bumper jumper control scheme"

If Microsoft ever came to upgrade those buttons like making them metal or not having the LB and RB connected together as one plastic piece, i would be happily to purchase another one.

The Elite Controller is a very expensive piece of kit.

If you're in the UK the retailer who sold it to you should be able to offer you a replacement or a refund.

What did Support say when you spoke with them?

 

Doesn't sound like he did speak to them

 

Mine did the same thing, the little bridge broke across the two bumpers now the thing is useless. Why cant you get anything good anymore?

 

I have had the same issue with 2 Elite controllers. Xbox will replace the controllers within 90 days but I am sure you will have the same issue with the new ones as the problem will not be fixed; replacing the plastic with something more durable or flexible
that will withstand the pressure of, in my case, sliding around while playing Warframe. Hopefully they get this fixed. I can't afford to keep replacing $150 controllers.
