Xbox One Elite Controller Issues

So let me start this off by saying I am a huge fan of the Elite controller. I had zero problems with it from the second I started using it. After about 2-3 months of using (no drops and always stored in hard shell case) the right stick started to act
weird. So when I typed in “how to fix Xbox one elite...” the first suggested search was, “How to fix Xbox One Elite controller joystick.” So once I typed that in, videos, forms, and sites etc. all came up. Now I know you could type in anything that is broken
and stuff shows up on how to fix it, but paying $150 for a controller and having to void your warranty to fix it seems absurd. Sure you can send it in to repair it for however much and it take who knows how long but there goes more money into an already more
expensive controller. Let’s keep in mind that a $40 Xbox One controller has the same 90 day warranty as the Elite.

Microsoft is roughly worth $370 billion. Now obviously they did not get to those standards by giving people free controllers just because one breaks. But, if you look into the controller you will find the right stick is breaking for many people within
the first two to three months. Now keep in mind this is not happening to everyone (as I know of) and also not everyone who has this problem is talking about it on forms either. This to me looks like a manufacturing deficiency.

Basically what I am trying to get at is that someone, even Microsoft, should research this ongoing problem with the controller. No one deserves to have to wait for the Xbox One Elite controller 2.0 to have these fixes made. We should be compensated
in some way now. Whether it’s everyone getting their first repair free or even a replacement one. By doing this alone would really give them that step up from other companies that produce similar controllers (aka Scuf). Having an “elite” controller should
have elite benefits including some compensation for situations like this. Maybe I am wrong or overreacting but forms are for expressing your concerns and that’s what I felt like was necessary. If you are having other issues with your controller, please feel

Worth waiting for XBOX Elite?

you should wait for Elite the better controller is worth it (assuming it wont suffer from the same issues the controllers out now have)

I have bought 4 controllers for multiplayer in the past month all have issues. The armed forces right d-pad skips, 2 of the regular black ones the right d-pad only works if you press hard on it and one regular black one has a sticky A button. The controller that came with my Xbox the grip pieces came loose I took it apart put new tighter screws in and super glued the pieces back on, now its nice and tight.

I am going to get an Elite controller hopefully it saves my Xbox or I am selling it if the Elite controller has issues.

I would have never bought an Elite Controller because my Day 1 controller developed a stick drift and my wife's controller's D-Pad doesn't work right anymore.

My wife bought me the Elite Controller as a gift so lucky me I suppose but I'm very nervous because like yourself, I took excellent care of my equipment to the point that other people weren't even allowed to look at them.

But like you say this is a very expensive piece of kit.

In the first instance I would go to the retailer who sold you the device and complain. Like you say it's an expensive piece of kit and so why are they selling faulty ones.

Also you should complain to Microsoft. Contact support. If they don't sort it politely insist upon speaking to a manager. If they don't sort it politely insist on speaking to their manager.

If they don't sort it politely insist on the address for their Head Office Complaints department.
