Xbox One Elite Controller Issues

I just upgraded to the Xbox One Elite and have been having issues connecting both the elite controller and older controllers. Controllers will only connect to the Xbox One console after a hard reboot, after that, if the console is shut down, they won't
reconnect until another hard reboot of the console is done. How do I fix this? I read the Xbox One controller FAQ page and tried all that without any luck.

you should wait for Elite the better controller is worth it (assuming it wont suffer from the same issues the controllers out now have)

I have bought 4 controllers for multiplayer in the past month all have issues. The armed forces right d-pad skips, 2 of the regular black ones the right d-pad only works if you press hard on it and one regular black one has a sticky A button. The controller that came with my Xbox the grip pieces came loose I took it apart put new tighter screws in and super glued the pieces back on, now its nice and tight.

I am going to get an Elite controller hopefully it saves my Xbox or I am selling it if the Elite controller has issues.

 

When was the last time you upgraded your controllers? If you haven't or it's been a long time you should check by connecting the controller(s) with a micro usb cable and head over to Settings>Devices to see.

 

I've got the exact same issue happening to me, and I've upgraded both of my controllers (one Elite, one standard) with no luck.

 

Everything has been done that's listed in that FAQ including updating the controllers.

I had no issues two days ago before I upgraded my xbox to the elite. I don't have any clue what else to do

My issues are slightly different. It doesn't disconnect, it just won't ever connect until there a hard reboot of the console. Once it connects, it functions fine.

 

I was having the exact same issue, and my Elite Xbox One was in "instant power on" mode. I switched to "energy saving" mode and now the controller stays synced. It's annoying, though, because now I cannot use my Kinect to turn my Xbox on when I get home.
Seems like this is a software problem, though, and not a hardware issue. Microsoft needs to get to work fixing this. I just upgraded to the Elite console from my original Xbox One and I feel like this is unacceptable.

Im having an issue where the chat pad won't connect to the elite controller. Works fine on all other controllers. I had it working for a second i pushed it in and it worked but, it stopped again. Mic works fine on the controller same adapter style.

All updates where done.

 

I am also having this same problem. Have to pull the power cord on my xbox one and then start it up again for it to sync with my elite controller

 

I would not recommend buying this controller to all owners and future or even potential buyers this controller still has thumb stick drifting. I bought this controller on launch day and now as I write this the left thumb stick is drifting with out contact.
For a controller that is $150 the quality may feel nice but don't be fooled they still use the same thumb stick modules. Here is a article if you don't believe me.
