Xbox One Elite Controller is a RIPOFF!

I bought the Xbox One Elite controller when they launched after seeing the adds and watching the E3 videos about it. It was being promoted as the end all be all controller for Xbox, the controller a pro gamer would use. I am not a pro gamer, in fact, I am
more of a casual gamer who plays after work. At first I was very happy with this controller, the idea of mapping buttons was cool but I haven't really dabbled in that and I haven't used the bumpers more than a few times. That being said the controller was
working and to this point still functions well but it has rubber grips that are beginning to peel off the handle on the left side of the controller. From what research I have done this is a common issue with peoples Elite controllers. Also the left stick has
come loose from it's base so the ball inside the body on the left is able to move in and out freely but the click function and the movement still works. My recommendations for all users on Xbox is to NOT buy this controller. This thing is between $120-$150
depending on where you find them, it includes different sticks and bumpers, one d-pad and a braided cable to plug it into the console. However it also only includes a 90 day warranty and for that price if you don't need the different sticks and bumpers it's
a waste of money. You can buy 2 play and charge controllers for the same price and my standard controllers that have been in use since the black friday after XB1 launched are still working fine with nothing falling off and no loose sticks. Save you money don't
get ripped off.

The Next Elite controller could have removable triggers

The Elite controller has the same overly loose sticks of the old One controller. The One S controller has more stick tension for better control of precise movements like aiming in a FPS. If the Elite had better sticks and build quality it might be worth $150.00 but as is it's an obsolete badly designed flop. The Elite 2 needs to be released because too many uniformed consumers are buying the Elite.

 

Xbox One S - a few steps forward but many backward (vs Xbox Elite)

Xbox one s IS compatible with Xbox one elite controller so if you don't like the Xbox one s then use the elite controller.

 

On top of the issues with the controller it doesn't help that Microsoft is telling me that I need to buy a new controller because the warranty is passed. So basically give us another $150 sorry your controller is falling apart goodbye.
