Xbox One Elite Controller d-pad wobble

I got my Elite controller a few weeks ago and I'm very happy with it so far, but the d-pad keeps bothering me. It's not like it doesn't do it's job or anything - it works perfectly in fact, but every time I put my thumb on the left side of it I can feel
the wobble and it slowly drives me crazy. I'm pretty sure I need to get a replacement controller but I'd like some input from other Elite controller-owners first.

As you can see in the video this affects both included D-pads, so I think it's safe to assume the controller itself is faulty. If you own an Elite controller, please chime in and let me know if your d-pad is wobbly as well, because if it's not, I'm gonna
have to get mine replaced.

Xbox elite controller parts

They give me no options there other than buying replacement parts for the swappable components (thumbsticks, paddles, d pad). Nothing about repair of the unit itself or replacement parts for the internals.

 

Xbox One S LE controller D Pads

Has anyone noticed the difference in the D-Pad quality/build of the Xbox One S LE controllers? The D-Pad feels poorly built and isn't the same as previous controller models. Any controller built after the Xbox One S White controller seems to have this "new"
cheaply built D-Pad that seems to become defective rather quickly.

I noticed this newer D-Pad in the following controllers:

Dawn Shadow(pink/black) controller

GoW4 Crimson/JD Fenix LE controllers

 

I don't have the Elite controller but if you are having issues with it you should get it exchanged before too much times goes by and they won't exchange it. Sure, get feedback from other users just don't continue to wait. Good Luck!
