Xbox One Elite Controller connection issue

I usually play games with the USB cable (wired connection) and there is no problem at all. However, the console prompt me to update every time if i connect wirelessly. How can i fix it, is it a bug?

Q's about Xbox controller / batteries and recharging

If we place other brand AA rechargeable batteries (NiMh) in the xbox one controller (regular or elite) and if we connect the USB cable to the controller Will it recharge the batteries?

If there is no batteries in the controller and you connect controllers/usb cable to the Xbox or any other power source will the controller work as if it's a wired controller?

Have you updated your controller's software? If you haven't connect your controller with the USB cable, press Menu on your controller (or go to the quick sidebar) and select Settings. Go to the System sub-menu. Select Controller Update. It will take a
couple of minutes and then this should solve your problem. Please let me know if you still have the problems afterwards.

I did, but it prompts me to update each time if i disconnect the cable and use it wirelessly.

Is there a difference between the Bluetooth on the Elite and the one on the regular Xbox one controllers. My other controllers connect without an issue, but not the Elite.

Have you by any chance attempted to connect the controller directly to the PC through a wired connection?

As well, you have mentioned that the controller that came with the Xbox One console is recognized on the PC, but that the elite controller is not recognized at all on the PC. This same elite controller, does it have any issues with connecting to the Xbox
One console?

i know this is his question but he said elite controller to a adapter not a regular xbox one controller on the link it says how to connect adapter from pc to xbox one controller he needs a elite controller adapter because all he is finding is regular xbox
one adapters to pc which he stated do not work for his elite controller

Seems like the only workaround now is to connect your Elite controller to a Xbox One console, and update your Elite controller via the Xbox One console. Then it will work on your PC again.

Have you tried connecting your Xbox Elite controller to your Xbox One console via USB to force a sync? If that doesn't work, it sounds like getting your Elite controller repaired will be next option. Here is information on
