    Xbox One DVR question


    I have my Xbox 360 running through my Xbox one and was wondering if its possible to record while playing xbox 360 games? I tried it earlier today and got some error message but I don't really see why I can't record what is on the screen while im on my One.

    Exact same question here, one year later. Also, the xbox one guide won't change the channel of the cm-7000pal dvr. Anyone?

    Xbox One DVR question

    The Xbox One does not allow for recording of footage through the HDMI-IN.

    Think about if you have a DVD player or your TV going through the HDMI-IN, that could lead to some very sticky issues with recording TV shows and DVDs.

    Technically, it can record what is going on the screen, but because of legal issues, it doesn't allow it.

    Yeah but the thing is I want to record Xbox 360 gameplay so that's basically the same as recording Xbox One gameplay so that not like record TV shows or DVD's.

    The Xbox One doesn't know what you have hooked into the HDMI port (and if it did, you would still probably be able to spoof it to get around it). The Xbox One doesn't allow for recording TV due to legal issues. If you would like to record Xbox 360 gameplay,
    you can look into getting a capturing device like other users use now.

    Already got one but figured since my "NEXT GEN" console has one built in it would be easier to capture gameplay on the ONE console that basically does less than my 360 does now.

    Hey there GreenDragon080.

    It sounds like your son's Xbox One hasn't received the update if they see the option to press Y or X for Game DVR. With the new update, press the Xbox button once and then press the menu button to bring up the Game DVR app. All Game DVR abilities are now done
    through there. Let us know if you have any other questions with that.
