Xbox One download speeds lately are SUPER SLOW

I'm down in Australia on Xbox One.

NBN Connection (100/40) and purchased GTA V yesterday on the Xbox One for download digitally.

Hardwired connection, Xbox IP in the DMZ, No port forwarding rules in place.

Speed tests on the Xbox itself show speeds over 80Mbit down, but bandwidth usage sits at 6Mbit?

GTA V is a 49GB download.

It's taken 20 HOURS so far and it's still sitting at 98%

Normally on my connection a 50 Gig download would take less than 90 minutes and has done in the past (I'm 100% digital on Xbox)

I have no other network issues at all and no one else leeching our bandwidth. It's purely an Xbox download speed issue.

What's going on guys?

SUPER SLOW DOWNLOAD SPEED!

Hi Guys,

I am having a stupid amount of Xbox LIVE issues at the moment. I quit xbox for about 3 months and I came back to find I can not join XBL game without lagging. Also I have been trying to download GTA 4 now for 2 days. It is taking the p*** and is driving
me insane. I tested my download speed and it is 80MB/s with 30ms Ping. I can download something on my computer that 1gb in about a minute. I just want to know why my XBL connection is so rubbish? I have 4 Bar connection in the test area and open NAT. It's
really ticking me off.

SOME PLEASE TELL ME WHATS GOING ON!

SUPER SLOW DOWNLOAD SPEED!

You have to be in the dashboard or not playing any games while you're downloading

Are you backgrounding the download?

Puting it i. The background generally will slow any download down

Especially a 50 gig download

When downloading something yes you can background download it but it will slow the progress down if you play a game while downloading

A 10 gig will take 2hours in the background

Thats an estimation btw

But generally like a pc or psr or xbox one puting anything in the background will slow a download trust me i downloaded complete games and you will lose alot of kbs just browsing while downloading in a browser on the pc

The 2nd cpu that ps4 and xbox one have is to allow gaming but because you are using a lower cpu to handle something while your main cpu and wifi are busing playing your game yoir download will have lower priority

Nah, it was downloading overnight and still had those speeds. I think it's related to GTA V alone though, because after it eventually finished I queued up the current GWG game for X1 (Tomb Raider) and viola, it was back to normal speeds.

Weird, but it seemed like GTA 5 alone had that issue. Go figure.

Are you wired or wireless? Try a wired connection. Your WiFi signal will be split between every device that connects via WiFi.

try restarting your router by unplugging the power from the wall outlet/socket for at least 5 minutes (while your router is off you might as well Power Cycle your Xbox by holding the power button for 10 seconds then unplugging the power lead from the wall
socket.

then plug the router back in and wait for it to fully initialise (all the lights solid green) then plug your Xbox back in and connect to the internet and live.

that will clear the caches in both the router and Xbox and will hopefully speed things up a bit.
