Xbox One Download speeds are off

I've been having issues with my Xbox one not being able to come close to what im paying for internet speed wise. I had Brighthouse 60mbps before, and today I just upgraded to ATT fiber 1000mbps. Now, when i had brighthouse, i was only getting 5mbs-35 mbps
on the xbox detailed network statistics menu. It usually trended around 5 mbps (download) Well today i installed my Fiber, and im still getting 5mbps at times, and other times it jumps up to 150 mbps. Even though when i take that SAME Ethernet wire and plug
it into my laptop, the internet speed tests never go below 700 mbps.

Why does it seem as if the Xbox is somehow throttling down the internet download speeds for itself?

Xbox download question

I noticed this when I was downloading the dreadful MCC collection game/update, but does anyone notice a big drop off is their download speed when they shut their console off? Not energy saving off, but the one where it still downloads in the background. Seriously when my Xbox is on and awake, I see speeds double when it comes to how many GB'S per hour you are getting downloaded. Does this happen to anyone else?

If you are downloading the digital version then it mostly depends on your download speed of your broadband (internet).

I can download the xbox one version in under an hour as I have fast download speeds.

Looking at your profile I assume you are downloading the 360 version which is a lot smaller than the xbox one.

You can set up your console to do background downloads in the console settings on the 360 so it will carry on downloading when your console is off.

That will put your console into a "standby" mode while the game downloads & then turn it off once the download is finished.

I saw your post and I had to just jump in. So, if I understand what you are saying, with the same ISP, the same network modem, the same router, (the same network switches, if any), even the same Ethernet cable, i.e. the absolute same physical data path,
you are seeing a maximum of about 150Mbps using >Settings >All Settings >Network >Network settings >Detailed network statistics at your Xbox? But, with your PC using something like speedtest.net , you are seeing 700Mbps? Well, I don't have
anything like 1Gbps to my place yet. However, I have never seen any discrepancy between what my Xbox reports and what I see on my PC. That is, if no one else is downloading and or streaming anything.... At this point, I would have to recommend testing your
Xbox at different location to see if there really is some kind of "throttling" going on. But, if I had to guess, I think this maybe more of a QoS issue with the download/streaming servers and not the Xbox itself.
