Xbox one download speed issue

Why does my network go from 170Mbps download speed to around 80Mbps??? Can't find an answer on xbox support, right after I restart it sits at around 170Mbps but after I do a second test a minute later, just the download speed changes and now says 80.62Mbps.
I've been experiencing this for a month now when will their be a fix???

I never had a problem with download speed. I use a wired connection of 10 mbps and download speeds are pretty much what I'd expect, but lots of people are complaining about it recently. That's not an issue exclusive to Xbox either... Slow download speed on PS4?

What's your internet speed? The combination of the huge size of this update and the well known downloading/installing issues of the Xbox One can cause many hours of waiting for this to be installed.

 

Since you are getting 80+Mbps download speeds I am not sure there really is anything to be concerned about. True download speeds can be impacted by a number of different factors.

 

I just upgraded my internet, it used to be 60Mbps which was reduced to 6Mbps because of this problem.

 

before the upgrade I was angry when it slowed to 6Mbps and now that its 80Mbps I'm still frustrated because the Xbox is reducing my internet speed. also its not being impacted by anything I have a triband router and I but my Xbox on one of the 5ghz N bands
with a max bandwidth of 1300MB.

 

sometime xbox has issues with that 5ghz range , try the 2.5 and also try hardwired and see if its just a wireless problem or not...

 

I've never had a problem before it started after the Aug update. other people have reported the same problem on reddit.

 

I assumed you came 0n here to see if you can get it working again , to do that we first need to see if its a wireless only problem or not , if you have a duel band router , try and switch bands , also hook up the xbox with a cable and see if problem goes
away.

Don't you mean spatial streams? For example, 3x3:3?

The Xbox One is 2x2, so you'll never see Gbit speeds. Not likely for any of your wireless stations.

 

tri-band 2.4Ghz, 5GHz, 5Ghz if that's wrong terminology then 3 WiFi connections. I'm connected to one of the 5 GHz connections which is solely reserved for my Xbox. theirs nothing wrong with my router or internet, distance, etc. its just for some reason

strength 100%. and after a few minutes just the download speed changes to 65-80Mbps in know it sounds like first world problems but I paid for better internet and It can do it clearly so why is this happening??? just ran another test and the download speed
is down to 82.26Mbps and everything else is the same as before. I just want to know if their is a bug that Microsoft or someone is aware of?? like I said before never use to have a problem until I got a new Xbox one S and then after the August update, videos
on YouTube and community were low quality or took forever to load all of a sudden and games would glitch and lag worse than usual , I would do a test to find it was running at 6Mbps instead of 60Mbps. or is it really just me...lol

Sure, throughput may increase by as much as 25-30%, by having two concurrent 5 GHz radios enabled. But, and here's the big BUT. The data retry percentages will increase
dramatically, and can in fact jump as high (skyhigh) as 30% on the uplink and 40% on the downlink. Having two concurrent radios that close to each other... Sorry! Physics won't play nice on those two radios.

I know, since the latest update, and the update before that, that the Xbox One's wireless network adapter doesn't "perform" as it should (has it ever?). Bad batch/drivers etc. could be. Could it be fixed? Absolutely! Next patch maybe? Don't know. Time will
tell, along with a small portion of patience.

Have you tried to connect your Xbox One to the 2.4 Ghz band, or even connect wired with your console (if that's an option)?

Do you have your console participating in the Preview program (early access)?

 

I have an Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-band WiFi router sitting 5 feet away through a thin wall, I can't do wired though. switching to 2.4Ghz is worse cause I got everything else on that one, the first 5Ghz is solely for my Xbox and the other 5Ghz is for another
Xbox..... lol, I guess all I can do is wait for a patch, but i really just wanted to say something instead of just siting here, so I could find an answer on if it is my router or if it is a bug to have more people aware so Microsoft can do something about
it.

the preview program is for people more technical than me, so no I don't have my console in the program.

 

Now after being on overnight with instant on enabled it's down to 6.95 Mbps.
