Xbox one download speed 95% way lower than expected

Hello all,

First of all I'd like to appologize to the people who have to live with only 12Mbit download, to who I look like a spoiled kid.

I also asked this question to the person in the live chat, they told me to make a post about this issue here.

Well, my problem is as follows. I have an 120 Mbit/s connection from Ziggo (Netherlands) and with speedtest on my PC is easily reach 90-100Mbit. I'm okay with that. Now the problem is that my Xbox one only reaches <8Mbit/s in 95% of the time. Sometimes,
and really, sometimes after a lot of power cycles etc. I get a download speed of 60-70Mbits, which finishes up my download in a wimp. In the 1-8Mbit situation, it takes ages. when I first had my xbox one (1.5 years ago) I always had the top speed, this issue
appeared around 6 months ago.

My setup is as follows. I have a 4-port switch connected to my router, connected to the switch are my PC, xbox one and xbox 360. My pc easily reaches high speeds 100% of the time, while these other two struggle really hard to have a decent download speed.
I actually remember having the same problems with my 360, which sometimes would be fixed after cancelling a download / restarting the console. Right now I am downloading a 2gig console update for the X1. The first 40% where done in 10 minutes, now the next
20% took over 30 minutes.

This issue happens all the time, even overnight when no other devices are connected. Other things I tried:

Directly connecting the console to my router,

Changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8 (google's dns) - This gave me a steady download speed of 18Mbit, still not what I want

Swapping cables (using the one from my PC)

Using different ports on router and/or switch

Static and dynamic IP

Port fowarding

Power cycling and/or rebooting router

Cancelling and restarting downloads

-I might have missed one or two, I don't know anymore

If someone here knows how to solve this issue, I'd be glad to hear it, If you need more information, ask me and I'll edit it in.

Install taking a long time

Your download times will depend entirely on your home network. If you have low download speeds, or many devices all connected at once, this will significantly worsen your download times.

The games are also considerably bigger than their 360 counterparts (40GB on Xbox One versus the typical 5-6GB on Xbox 360), which will also make it seem like it's much slower than you're used to.

You can check your download speed by going to Settings/Network/Bandwidth Usage/Current Usage. This tells you your download speed and by knowing the size of the game you can calculate the expected time to download.

sir, you may have faster speeds, but Microsoft does not believe in spending money to properly upgrade its servers. my speeds on my xbox one have been slower since November last fall. I suspect the servers may have been intentionally slowed down so as to
avoid overwhelming their service. there are millions of subscribers to xbox live, after all. and a lot of them are online at the same time...
