XBOX ONE doesnt work out the box

Same exact issue here. Turned it on for the first time and began doing the initial setup and when it got to the update part it just says "something went wrong with the update"

 

Same here. Only we have spent the entire day on the phone and on line with support trying to figure it out, and have no luck at all. We got our son the xbox one call of duty advanced warfare special edition bundle. This was the ONLY thing he wanted this
year, and we paid way way way too much for it. He was so excited to get it, and we cant get past the first screen. We get error code 203, and then error code 101, when they figured that out, we went back to error code 203. It is ridiculous. How about spending
some of the budget money on coming out with new things constantly on support and fixing the items already out there? Perhaps then you wouldnt have so many upset parents and kids on christmas day.

 

Just got off the live chat with the support team and the reason for the green screen if you tried the initial set up today is due to to XBL being offline and the inability to download the update that is required for 1st time use. Stupid that you have to
update a brand new unit prior to 1st, but that's the case for the XBOX ONE for some reason.

purchased new xbox one and can't get it to boot up at all error code E305 00000001 80073CF6. It was the Santa gift at my house today. We waited 4 hours for a call to be told another person had to call us now have waited 5 hours. please help as this will
be hard to explain why it must be returned!!! Please don't ruin Santa

 

what *** me off is that there should be some way that you can play this game off line. how many kids were royally disappointed today on Christmas. Had to try and explain to grandkids why Santa brought them a gift that doesn't work.

 

Most games can be played offline as long as you got it up and running before the service alert started.

 

All the parents on here saying their Xmas was ruined..... good. You are fracking spoiled. I have an Xbox, wasn't able to play all day. Grow the hell up you supposed parents.

 

Did the update then tried to load discs. Will not read disc or a blue ray. I have an upset little boy!! We read where the update affected a small number of drives. Anyone else w this issue??

 

Let's try to have some perspective, people: updating a complex machine is NOT unreasonable. In fact, you'd be upset if it didn't get updated...they are constantly releasing new features, customization capabilities, etc., that all of us as users ask for.
If things weren't getting updated, we'd all be griping that nobody listens to us as to what we want the console to do. Between the time of manufacture and use, the chances of having significant updates released are extremely high, thus explaining the need
to update the first time you turn the machine on.

All of that aside, it appears that both XBox live and PSN were victims of a hacker attack today, most likely Lizard Squad. These @sshats did it on purpose on Christmas. This was not the fault of Microsoft or Sony...you can blame self-obsessed geeks with
nothing better to do than trying to ruin thousands of people's Christmas. The FBI is investigating, and hopefully these knuckleheads will get locked up and have a few years to think about what they did.

Again, this has been a tough day for everyone, but should not be confused with there being a problem with the XBox...it's a hacker attack that has rendered the biggest gaming networks on the planet (both MS and Sony) useless today, not a problem with the
machine itself.

 

I am having the same problem. brand new out of the box and it took us about 4 hrs for the update to finally being. It kept giving me errors. This is extremely upsetting, my son was so exited when he opened his xbox one today and now he is telling me that
this is the WORST CHRISTMAS EVER... Oh and now its not only freezing but the controller won't even work or turn the console off. Someone please help and I hope that Microsoft will do something to compensate for the very stressful Christmas day we have all
had.

 

By the way when i wrote compensate i do not mean money wise. I just don't want this to happen again. All those hackers out there that have nothing better to do GET A LIFE AND LET THE KIDS ENJOY THEIR DAY.

 

ShadoWBoy2020 once you got the console sorted, did you update the controller and assign it to someone but I don't know if you can do that while this service alert is going on.

Have you got your own Xbox and the cable for the controller?.

 

Xbox One and Microsoft support is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. I bought one on Xmas eve and it overheats after only 5 mins. There is no one you can actually speak to personally about the issue and quite simply a SERVICE VOID. Disgusting....
