    Xbox One doesn't shut down properly. Turns on by itself


    Recently (I'd say since the last update) my xbox won't shut down properly immediately. Sometimes the fan will continue on for a while then stop, but sometimes I can hear the hardrive clicking or full on spinning up after I've turned off my xbox one. Sometimes
    the screen turns on as it believes the xbox is connecting to it, and once the xbox just fully turned on by itself in the middle of the night.

    This is annoying. Partly because it is not energy efficient, but also because I have the xbox in my bedroom. Having it turn on, or make the screen turn on, or just make general noise, especially when I'm trying to sleep, is an issue.

    Anyone else having similar problems?

    Xbox One X shuts down by itself.

    Hi, I have a problem, I have not had 2 months with my Xbox ONE X and it goes off by itself, it locks up and simply shuts down. I already changed the power cord, I connected it to another side and the problem persists.
    The worst thing is that it is a gift that someone gave me from Los Angeles (USA) and they tell me that for the guarantee as I am in Colombia I have to pay 746,000 COP to change it for a
    RECONDITIONED and only give me 90 days of guarantee. It is unfair!! I just opened the console
    two months ago. HELP!!!!

    *URGENT!* System Update Stuck/Frozen!

    my xbox has now just shut itself down and wont turn back on..... this is getting bad.

    Hey there,

    Sorry to hear about the issue! Based on what was described, let's start with a Factory Restore on your Xbox One console. This is a painless troubleshooting step as long as you select 'Reset and keep my games & apps'.

    Additionally, I recommend also wiping down the front of your Xbox One console down with a microfiber cloth (or any non abrasive cloth) to make sure there isn't anything tricking the power button (if you own an Xbox One instead of an Xbox One S).

    Force quitting games before shutting down console?

    Most of the time the console will shut itself down properly. Sometimes it won't, but that's usually not too often.

    I have BF4 digital and it doesn't auto update. Honestly, the XBOX One itself doesn't auto update either. When a new update comes it shuts down your console, then you have to turn it back on manually for it to install. Not sure why it just doesn't act like
    a PC where it will install the update and automatically restart the console?

    Let's try setting your system back to Factory Defaults. You can perform this step without removing games and apps,
