Xbox one doesn’t restart properly. Holds on black screen and displays no signal.

I have had the same 'brightness' issue. It doesn't appear to be the tv because changing the input shows proper signal. I also have to restart the xbox to get the display to show properly.

I used to have the problem the screen was dim, but now it is faded. almost like the brightness is too high.

Same black screen. Power display shows on, my Tv HDMI input shows receiving signal but black screen on xbox. Home button shows it’s there and option to turn console off or controller off but that is all I can do. Smh !

Yep. I set the console to 720p using the TV that works, and then tried it on the TV that doesn't. Now the TV detects the Xbox properly, but displays a black screen. The second TV that I tried it on is a plasma one.

Xbox One is not designed to be con ected to analog televsions, unlike its predecessors, so support for 4:3 displays isnt in the cards.

4:3 content will be displayed with black bars on the sides. .

Ultrawide monitors can have native support, but no one is supporting 4:3 anymore

The 4:3 signal is displayed in the center of the screen. Those that purchase such displays know what they’re getting into. You can also purchase a variable aspect ratio projector for use with a seperate screen

Usually, when the Xbox shows a black screen for quite some time during startup, it's because of a logical corruption of the file system. Maybe the console was shut down unexpectedly due to a crash or power outage.

Similar to a PC doing a checkdisk when it wasn't properly shut down, the console also checks it's file system for logical errors, which can take up to about 10 minutes. Unfortunately, while a PC at least shows a percentage counter or sometimes even lists
which part of the file system it's checking, the Xbox One only shows an empty black screen.

So when the console shows you a black screen, let it run for about 10 to 15 minutes and see if it gets to the main Home Screen. Then try to restart the console by holding the Xbox button on the controller, and choosing the button to restart the console.

Does the console start faster without the black screen now?
