Xbox One Doesn't Recognize Controller So Update Can Be Performed

I'm trying to update my controller as it's not been updated at all in the last year. I have tried attaching 3 different micro USB cables and I get the same result with all three. The result is a message when trying to conduct the update "There is no controller
connected using USB. Make sure the USB cable is firmly attached to both the console and the controller and try again."

I have removed the batteries from the controller and tested it's functionality. It powers up and allows me to navigate the screens. I have attached the headphone and still no luck. I have restarted the console with the USB in place with the controller attached
to the USB but nothing I have tried will get the console to recognize the controller and allow me to continue on the "Let's get ready" screen. Any thoughts?

Xbox One Controller - bricked in DFU mode

Is there any solution when a controller is in "bricked" in DFU mode?

It lost contact to the Xbox One due to a faulty cable when a fw-update started. Now the console doesn't recognize it any more and when it's connected to a Win10 PC it reports to be an "Xbox Controller DFU".

Can I hard-reset it somehow to revert it to non-dfu mode? Or can the fw-update be forced/completed on a PC?

Xbox Accessories failed firmware update

Hello,

I was updating my Xbox One controller with the App called Xbox Accessories, but the App closed while updating and the controller now is seen as "Controller Updater" by Windows.

Xbox Accessories doesn't recognize the controller so I can't try to update it again.

I contacted support but they told me to use a Xbox One which I don't own and don't have access to so I was told a solution would be emailed to me but I haven't received anything.

So I tried a cable I got with my Jawbone products and it worked fine. All the cables that I tried were functioning cables not sure what made this one different. But the update was successful with this cable.

Same here. Xbox One controller doesn't get recognized, even with all drivers updated.

Our suggestion here, please attempt following our how to update your Xbox One Controller on Windows
10 support article. The article provides the steps necessary for getting your controller up to date.

Try this out for us and then let us know the results.

As I mentioned before, the app doesn't recognize the control ... The control doesn't even turn on anymore ... Only windows recognizes as "update controller". I would need a way to reinstall the controller
firmware ...

Hello, thank you for answering. I updated the Microsoft drivers but nothing happened for the Xbox One controller: no light or sound and the computer doesn't recognize it.

The problem doesn't seem to bem on Windows. I tried using the controller in another PC with Windows 10 and it doesn't recognize it either.

I suspect that the controller firmware got corrupted in the failed updating process and that's the cause for the malfunctioning.

Is there are a way to rollback the controller firmware update?

Have anyone tried connecting the controller on a Xbox One console? I also don't own one and couldn't test that possibility. But at the moment that seems to be the best option other than taking it to technical assistance...
