Xbox one doesn't read disks

For a few months my console has difficulty reading disks. It tells me to check if my disks are damaged or dirty, which they aren't, so my idea is the disk drive is faulty. I found solutions online like leaning the console 45 degree backward to help the
disk getting in, which didn't work. The only solutions left involve opening the console myself to go clean the disk drive, and I don't want to do that. Do I have to send it to Microsoft to get it fix? Is so, how to?

Maybe you can use a cleaning-cd. It can clean up the lense.

Opening your console will VOID your warranty, I would avoid doing that. You can try the steps below from the Xbox Support team:

Try the following solutions if none of your discs will play, or if you insert a disc and your console doesn't recognize it. If your Xbox Home screen tells you to insert a disc when a disc is already inserted, that means it doesn't recognize your disc.
In these scenarios, there are two possible issues:

The settings for instant-on power mode can render a small number of consoles unable to read discs.
The console's disc drive needs servicing.

Solution 1: If you use instant-on power mode, change power modes and power cycle the console

Press the Xbox button

to open the guide.
Select System > Settings > General >
Power mode & startup.
Select Power mode, and then select Energy-saving.
Perform a "hard power cycle" by holding down the Xbox button

on the console for 10 seconds. Once the console has completely shut down, press the
Xbox button

on the console again to restart it.
Try your disc again. Wait a few seconds to see if the console recognizes it. If the console can now read the disc, you can revert to instant-on power mode.

Follow the above steps if the problem happens again.

Solution 2: Request a repair

If the previous solution didn't fix the issue, your console will need a repair. Go to

There comes a time my friend when you just have to go buy a new one unless it is new then i would return for replacement.

Thanks for coming to the forums. We would recommend you to get the console serviced. There should be no scraping noises, and this could damage your disks. You can try and set up a repair at

device support. However, if the console is out of warranty, we no longer service out of warranty original Xbox one consoles.
