    Xbox One doesn't read discs after latest update


    After the latest system update, my xbox just won't read discs.

    I've tried inserting different game discs including a brand new one, but nothing changes in my system.

    Last week I managed to get it to finally read a disc after rebooting it a dozen times, but here we are on my very next day off and it won't read discs again.

    It doesn't give me an error code, it doesn't make some kind of beeping or other indicator when the disc is inserted, it doesn't give me a notification that the disc is dirty. The system just acts 100% like nothing is even in the drive.

    If I eject the disc and put it back in, I don't even hear the drive whirring up like its even trying to read the disc.

    I had no problems until this latest update.

    Brand new console won't read games

    The latest August 2014 update has caused Xbox One not to read game discs. Microsoft needs to release an update to fix this.

    Me and at least one of my buddies are having this same issue. Works fine after a hard reset, that is until you decide to switch to another game. I've wasted most of my play time today trying to get the darn discs to read. Issue wasn't started until after
    latest update install. :(

    Blu Ray Problem: Cannot play Game of Thrones Season 3

    The latest update did not fix the playback issue with Game of Thrones Season 3 on Blu-Ray.

    Some users may encounter the error that was causing the Xbox to not read the disc, again, even after updating the Blu-Ray player app.

    To work around this, fire up the Blu-Ray app with no disc in your Xbox.

    You'll be prompted that there is no disc in your drive.

    Insert Game of Thrones season 3 blu-ray into your drive.

    I have the exact same issue. Even after 'deinstalling' the update. I only have this issue with a brand new disc (which I already swapped for a new one at the store, and which works in a Xbox S model). Old discs are running fine.

    With the latest update installed, the 'game' tile is green and says 'Play disc'. When I uninstall the latest update the recognizes the game (and the tile says 'Play game' and the game logo is listed) but the overall result is that the disc cannot be read.

    I contacted Microsoft support about this and they said I should send the console for repair because for some reasons my console has software issues (which is gonna cost me 70 euro's) OR (and I quote) "this is also a good oppurtunity to buy a new console".
