Xbox One doesn't detect my Cox cable STB

When setting up OneGuide, it never asks me for my zip code or my cable provider. This is actually my second Xbox One - the first one shutdown in the middle of playing and never came back up (it was only on for 6 hours). On the first Xbox One, it detected
my STB and I was able to set up OneGuide so it showed my cable's show guide. I returned the broken Xbox One and received a brand new replacement. But the replacement, doesn't ask me for a Zip code or my provider so OneGuide only shows "HDMI content" as my
only channel when before (on the first one), I saw all my channels.

I've been looking for help and nothing I've tried has worked. I did a reset on the TV Setup to do it again only to have it act the same (does not ask me for a zip code or provider). I've rebooted my Xbox One. I've unplugged my STB for at least 30 seconds
and tried the set up again with the same results.

Anyone have ideas? It's really frustrating since I know it had worked on the first one so I know how it should be (and I was impressed how it worked).

    :)

    Shaw Pace STB HDCP issue

I also have a Pace STB, and the Xbox One hates it. The two constantly battle. When I first received the STB, I had nothing but trouble getting the Xbox to work with it. I finally figured out that what was happening is the Pace STB will auto-detect the
TV resolution and aspect ratio. If left in Auto mode, and connected to the Xbox, the STB will continually cycle through aspect ratios and resolutions, never settling on one, and this causes problems.

To resolve, I have to connect the STB direct to my TV and manually set the aspect ratio and resolution. Once set, disconnect the HDMI cable from the TV and reconnect to the Xbox One. Do not disconnect the HDMI cable from the back of the STB because if
you do, it will go back to Auto. Do not power off the STB, or it will go back to Auto. Once connected to the Xbox One, wait 1-2 minutes and everything will work. Good luck though because you will be repeating this anytime the Pace STB powers off, or the
HDMI cable is disconnected from behind it.

HDCP issues with Live TV only

    Same problem ...

    Provider: Cox

    STB: Cisco 9865 HDC

XBOX One OS Version: 6.2.11274.0 (xb_rel_1407.140703-1704) fre

As a side note, I have been able to get the display back by going into Settings > Display & Sound and changing the "TV Connection" setting from "Auto-Detect" to "HDMI" (if I am on HDMI today I will have to change it to auto detect when I turn it on tomorrow).

I believe what is happening is that the XBOX ONE is no longer negotiating the HDCP connection with the STB when powered on from it's "instant on" state. That would explain why changing the connection works, because it forces the negotiation.

Anyway ... would be nice if this was fixed

Actually, I turned the Xbox back on the next day and it did recognize my STB and it works now. Thanks for the response.

Xbox One setup and hookup questions

Yes exactly like that, just put the Xbox One & STB in place of what was once just the STB as you have listed. I have found that telling my cable box to never turn off has been the best, really reduces signal detection times of the Xbox One on it's pass
    through HDMI input.
