Xbox One doesn't connect to WiFi, thus also LIVE

This is all after I brought the Xbox to my dad's house, changed the sign in preferences so that I had to enter my account password in order to use Live [I don't trust my stepmother, ha], and installed a chatpad onto my controller. It became progressively
more and more difficult to log into Live because after typing in my password there were longer loading times that often led to no avail, requiring secondary and tertiary sign in attempts. Eventually, every time I'd turn my Xbox on, it'd wouldn't have the WiFi
already activated, too, prompting back to back sign ins of WiFi and Live. Now, my Xbox isn't even capable of signing into the WiFi [attempts lead to a six-page slideshow thing that feature solutions that don't even appear to work for my Xbox [that or they're
too confusing for my brain]. I've tried a wired connection on my Xbox, too, but that prompts a four-page slideshow that also doesn't feature viable solutions. Also every time I turn on my Xbox the time resets itself to 9:00am. Any ideas here??

Network Connectivity

I live in an apartment building that has free WiFi for it residence. When I used to play my Xbox I would connect to the Community free WiFi(apartment building free WiFi) with no issues ,now I'm no longer able to connect via WiFi ,I must now connect via hard
wired in our build community TV room( that where the Comcast WiFi, cable box and AP is located). I hard wired into one of the 4 ports in back of the WiFi device but it doesn't work. SO I'm thinking it maybe my Xbox One console

 

Can't connect to your wireless network

Everytime i sign into my xbox one s it usually connects to the Xfinity wifi as soon as i sign in... but now it doesn't let me connect to the wifi at all and my phone's connected to the wifi as well

 

Update: Now back at my place with my Xbox One back, too. It STILL won't connect to the WiFi, and all the other issues [excluding the weird time reset thing, now says it's 6:04pm even though it's really 8:19pm here] persist as well. Unplugging/replugging
the router doesn't work, I tried manually setting all the IP and subnet mask and gateway stuff, y'know all the connection type WiFi info, also tried the automatic settings too, but both didn't do anything. Restarting from menu doesn't change anything, nor
does restarting via prolonged button press. I thought about doing the whole reset thing but I'm not sure if saving my games also saves all my saves?

 

Well the good news is that as long as you were playing while connected to live on the X1, all of your saves are saved server side. So if you do end up restoring your console back to factory, the only hard part is reinstalling all of your games (unless you
have them saved to an external HDD).

If you're having the same issue in two different places, one of which is a known good, and you're having the same issue, you're either dealing with a software error that's prohibiting connecting, or a possible hardware failure in the network card. At this
point, given all you've done so far, you're really only left with doing a restore and seeing if that allows you to connect. If it helps, then you know it was a software error and your problem is solved. If you're still having issues you know it's a hardware
error and you'll need to look into repair/replacement options.

 

Bad news-- I just tried resetting the console and the internet still doesn't work. Also just noticed that it says "hardware problem" near the top left. Guess I'm really *** here, huh?

 

Well it depends on when you got your console, but if it's over a year old, then ya, you're kinda up the creek here. You can always look into repair options on the self repair site, or give support a call and they can walk you through setting up a repair
order, but you're going to be out of pocket for it.

Honestly I'd just hold on to it, wait until this fall and trade it in for the S.

 

Try resetting your console EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
Once it is back up and operational test the results. That will sometimes reset the internal wifi card and it will start working again. You could also try running the console wired. Let us know. Good Luck!!

 

I'd already factory reset my console but I just tried holding the power button for 10 seconds and unplugged for five minutes, like you suggested. Still not working, sadly. Nor is a wired connection working. I think I'll try this several more times in hopes
that it might eventually function properly.
