Xbox One Doesn't Connect to Wifi After Startup

Hey Everyone,

I'm having an issue with my new Xbox One S console ( only had it for a week ).

Everything seemed to be working well until the last few days. I've noticed that when the X1 starts up, it sometimes doesn't automatically connect to the Wifi. When I go to the Networks settings, it says Current Network Status - Not Connected.

When I test the network connection, it says Not connected - Your network isn't set up.

When I select Setup Wireless Network, it doesn't display any available wireless network, even after I hit refresh.

This problem happens both when I use Energy Saving mode and Instant On mode. Other devices are able to connect to the wireless network even while the X1 refuses to connect or even recognize any wireless network.

I can't use a wired connection because the router is located in a different room.

I've already tried Resetting or Power Cycling my console. It may solve the problem temporarily, but then the problem comes back after a while.

I would appreciate any help on this matter.

Faliure to connect to wifi network

I just bought a new Xbox one s and on the initial startup it tells me that my WiFi password is wrong. I have confirmed that the password I'm typing in is correct and I have good signal from the router, because this is the first time I'm trying to connect
to WiFi it will not access anything else. I'm stuck in the second step of the startup. Any advice on what is happening?

 

Can't connect to your wireless network

Everytime i sign into my xbox one s it usually connects to the Xfinity wifi as soon as i sign in... but now it doesn't let me connect to the wifi at all and my phone's connected to the wifi as well

 

Same thing is happening to me man. I'm on second S and it's doing the same thing. IT has to be a firmware glitch. Because my last Xbox One S was fine for two weeks, than the problem started happening. And it's doing it to my new exchanged Xbox One S.

yeah. it's frustrating. and on top of this issue, I just learned that the S really doesn't upscale regular Blu-Rays to 4K, despite what MS says on their official support page - they say everything is supposed to upscale to 4K when you set the S output
to 4K UHD. But apparently, that's not the case with regular Blu-Rays.

so, yeah, 2 issues that are frustrating and disappointing.

Appreciate if you can post up the make and model of your router, along with the make and model of your modem as well (if this is not a single device).

Beside power cycle your console, have you tried any addtional troubleshooting steps, if so, detailing those out, so we don't post up answers that may only echo back.

I don't know the model of my router. other than it's what was supplied by ATT, my ISP. It's a router + modem combo and I think Motorola is the brand.

As for troubleshooting steps, I tried the Hard Reset/Power Cycle. I also did a full Factory Reset of the console.

That seemed to fix the issue - but then it started coming back. but not as frequently.

I did talk with MS support today via chat. and after a lengthy discussion, they recommended sending in the console for repairs or returning it to the store where I bought it.

I've decided to do the latter and return the console.
