    Xbox One does not run Xbox 360 games


    I have an original Xbox One (first version) and It can not run Xbox 360 games, i've already fone te factory reset of it and does not come back, and no matter what account i put in it, it still does not run, anyone can help me?

    Clear as mud?

    Have an game card as a gift that's labeled XBOX 360 and a box on the card that says it "Plays On XBOX ONE." Doesn't say anywhere it does not play on 360, so when I tried to load it to my 360 no joy. It does show in my account as an Xbox One pending download.
    What gives with that labeling? Why bother to put Xbox 360 on anything that doesn't run on Xbox 360? Can't find anything on the card that says it will not run on 360. Can I exchange the game for the 360 version, please?

    "Requiem4Sanity" lol ok. Yeah, I'll be holding my xbox 360. I thought that at least XBLA games would run in the new console. I just would like to know why it doesn't run, if Xbox One is a lot more advanced than xbox 360, why does it can't run the games?

    Hi, make sure you are trying to play a game that is on the back compat list Xbox One Backward Compatibility and that your xbox is online
    and has the latest console update.

    well it sort of does i was wondering if i buy the game on the 360 marketplace and play it on the xbox one will it run as if it was on the xbox 360 or xbox one

    Hi, make sure you are trying to play a game that is on the back compat list https://majornelson.com/blog/xbox-one-backward-compatibility/ and that your xbox is online
    and has the latest console update.
    the games I'm trying to play are backward compatible, and I know the list of all backwards compatible games, I follow Larry Hryb's twitter, so I know the list, also access his website, what I need is a solution, not something I already have I know, sorry for my ignorance.

    It only depends wether the publisher allows the game to BC. If does you will be able to play with both. The Xbox One BC is a full Xbox 360 emulator. It won't matter if you're on a Xbox One or a 360. As far as the game is concered it will think it's running
    on a 360.
