    XBOX One does not recognize discs


    My XBOX One does not seem to recognize games or DVD's unless a "Hard Power Cycle" is done (holding the power button for 10 seconds). This needs to be done every time and even then some discs are not recognized. I have selected "energy saving" under the
    power mode settings as instructed in the trouble shooting section on this web site. Is there a fix for this?

    No you cannot. The xbox one will not recognize 360 games discs or downloads

    I have the same problem with four consoles! (Elite version)...with standby mode seems all works fine...the problem is understand if it's hardware or software

    XBOX One does not recognize discs

    So it seems I'm not the only one with this problem. It seems to be hit or miss. Sometimes a game will start up without having to do a hard power cycle and sometimes even doing that dosn't work. Also, dvd/blu ray discs almost never work, which is unfortunate
    because that is one of the things I use the Xbox one for (watching dvds). Honestly, if I have to go buy a blu ray player I will just get a PS4 and end my 15 year relationship with Xbox. This machine has been very lightly used and if its a hardware issue then
    I'm not paying to have it fixed. Now if only there was a way to determine what the problem is...

    I got problems that it does not read dvd or bluray it gives me fehler: 0x80820002

    Try holding the disc for a split second longer than normal as the Optical drive is pulling it in. DO NOT put your finger or thumb in the center hole in the disc.

    Rather hold the disc by its outer edges when insertings the disc.

    This morning i changed again the console, this time not elite version but tom clancy's bundle...if can help you a friend with the same problem told me few minutes ago that factory reset (without delete games and app) can solve the problem

    Actually it doesn't. I have the classics version of mass effect which has the bring down the sky dlc on another disc, the Xbox one does not recognize this, as I haven't purchased it on the marketplace. I have tried the disc, but the Xbox one does not recognize
    it. The Xbox marketplace may want you to buy it again, but I would post on the feedback site to get them to make the Xbox recognize games of the year editions and classic editions too.
