Xbox One does not power on and off my Samsung TV

I set up my Xbox One and highlighted the function for it to turn on and off my devices. The Xbox One will turn on and off both my receiver and my cable box, but will not turn on and off my TV. I have a Samsung LNS4696D (XXAA) television. When I run set
up it says that it recognizes my TV but then it doesn't power it on or off. I've tried letting it send the power on signal when the Xbox is turned on, and power off signal when the Xbox One is turned off. I also tried just using the simple toggle function,
and entering my TV model manually. Nothing works. Any help?

    :)

Xbox One not turning on/off Xbox 360 connected through HDMI

    Hi.

I am experiencing an issue were the Xbox One is unable to turn a connected Xbox 360 on or off with the rest of my setup. Other devices including the TV and AV Receiver work fine, but the Xbox 360 does not. I am using the Xbox 360 as a Media Center Extender
(on FiOS) instead of a Set-Top Box.

    Here is Setup:

Xbox 360 =HDMI> Xbox One =HDMI> Yamaha Aventage RX-A820 =HDMI> Samsung Plasma TV

Everything is configured in the TV Power settings on the X1.

Xbox One, Yamaha AV, and Samsung TV all turn on/off correctly. Xbox 360 needs to be manually turned on and off, however commands to control TV work just fine after it is on. Is this a known issue or is there something else that needs to be done so the 360
    will also power on/off correctly?

    Thanks.

Xbox Turn Off, doesn't power down equipment?

I can power on with "Xbox On".

    It turns on my TV.

But "Xbox Turn Off", "Yes", does not power off the TV. Should it? (does yours?)

Hey D9Cyph - does volume up and down (using the media remote or "Xbox volume up") work for your Samsung TV?

Xbox series X has no in game sound but has sound on dashboard and everywhere else

I have a solution that works for me when this happens. Both the xbox and modern (Samsung) smart tvs don't fully restart when you power them off. Restarting the xbox does not seem to do much, but restarting my samsung tv does clear it up!

To *fully* restart your Samsung tv use the remote control and _hold down_ the power button for 10s or so, until the Samsung logo briefly appears. Then power on your tv as normal and play your game.

Xbox One will not with smaller TVs (32inch and 24inch), but works with big samsung (50 inch)

Hi, the samsung TV is model P2770HD.

The xbox sends a signal and powers the tv on and off, but no video signal.

The xbox is working and the ports on the tv are working (i tried direct tv devices and all the porta are working fine.

The HDMI cable also worked with xbox ONEand another, new TV (samsung smart tv).

    It is an Xbox One.

XB1 turns TV off when I turn it on

My wife's console does this (Samsung TV) but it doesn't do it on my console and Panasonic TV and it is for the reason Jaymo1978 mentions, some TV's use the same command from the remote to turn the TV on and off. So when the Xbox One powers up, it sends the
command and turns your TV off if it was already on.

You can do as Jamo mentiones and disable the option altogether or you'll need to remember to use your TV remote to turn your TV off before you turn your console on.
