  1. Xbox One does not detect Hyper-X 2 TB flash drive

When I look under storage the xbox one finds the external drive but treats it as a media drive. It won't allow me to format it so that I can store saves/games on it. It is USB 3.0, definitely over 256 GB, and I ensured it was unpartitioned. I believe it's
not in the list of recognized hardware. Please fix this.

    :)

3TB hard drive for media won't format

    Hello,

Captain WD is correct : the 360 will only take an external hard drive up to 2 TB. The xbox One can take larger like a 4 TB. I would say the drive is too large to use. Though the system used to accept larger drives and use what it wanted. Now it doesn't.

    XBOX says:

'You can use other USB flash drives to store up to 2 TB of content. Configure these flash drives as memory units to work with the Xbox 360. To learn more -

    support.xbox.com/.../usb-flash-drive-faq
    '

With the new settings on the 360 you can format the drive on a computer then use it on the console. The question is does the console recognise the drive? Try formatting it on a computer first then connect it. If possible format it to a 2TB size (shame
I know) then try again or get another drive.

    Good luck & happy gaming

Help, my console does not detect my usb flash drive anymore.

My console stopped recognizing the flash drive from one day to the other. The usb ports are all working and the console still detects other usb flash drives still not formatted. I tried putting it on the pc and it does detect the xbox formatted flash
drive. The usb is a 16Gb kingston data traveler 2.0. I already tried putting it after I started the console, what do I do? My console is the original model (fat) arcade version with 256mb internal storage device. The usb flash drive was formatted on the console.

I would like to see a link to this drive as the current largest legitimate flash/thumb drive in market is the Kingston 1TB Hyper X that sells for around $650 US. 2TB would be what, $1100-1200? Many fakes out there from Ebay and other online sources that
claim 2TB size yet aren't close to that.

Hardly seems realistic to use on a $300 console when you can buy a 4TB external drive for $120 from a reliable vendor such as Amazon or NewEgg, but that is just my opinion.

Hi, no doubt you have already checked out the following link, the drive has to have only one partition.

    support.xbox.com/.../console-doesnt-detect-external-storage

In some instances if you format the hard drive using your PC to NTFS and then try it on the Xbox it will work, others have had success with removing and adding the partition back using the Disk Management tools on a Windows based PC.

It isn't a hard drive. It SOUNDS like it is a fake flash drive as no 2TB Hyper X drive exists per a Google search. Not on Amazon, not on the Kingston website. They produce a 1TB Hyper X drive, but not a 2TB device.

  9. First I know that there isn't any flash drive in the store, but at the very least I have a functional 2 TB fraudulent flash drive. I haven't been able to reformat the drive in ntfs, but it's completely functional with fat32. Either way I think the issue
is with my drive, not xbox one's compatability. Thanks to all for the help.
