  1. XBOX One does not accept password for Microsoft account

We bought the NBA 2K17 Basketball game for XBOX one. It said we needed to download an update, which we did. Then the game installed. Now whenever we try to load that game or any other previously loaded game, the XBOX asks for the Microsoft password. It would
not accept the password, so I changed it online, and it still won't accept it. I also tried changing the password through the XBOX, but it won't accept the security code letters/numbers. Please help - we can't play any games now!

    :)

How to password protect your Xbox LIVE profile

    Xbox LIVE password overview

It is possible to download your Xbox LIVE profile to several different consoles. You may need to do this if you have more than one Xbox 360 console, or you want to play games at a friend's house. In such a situation, you may want to password protect your Xbox LIVE account so that no one else can sign in using your profile.

Set the console to remember your password

Once you have downloaded your Xbox LIVE profile to a console, you will be asked if you want the console to remember your password. The Remember Password option is usually off by default. This means that you will be asked for your Microsoft account password every time you sign into Xbox LIVE.

If you don't want to be asked for your Microsoft account password every time you sign into Xbox LIVE, select the Remember Password option.

Change the password protection on your profile

You are required to set the Remember Password option after you download your Xbox LIVE profile. However, you can change the password protection on your Xbox LIVE profile any time.

If you don't need a password to sign in:

Sign into your Xbox LIVE profile. After you have entered your Microsoft account password, select the Remember Password option.

If you choose the Remember Password option, you will not be asked for your Microsoft account password the next time you sign into your Xbox LIVE profile.

If you need a password to sign in:

You can restrict access to your Xbox LIVE profile on any console using your Microsoft account password.

    Steps to follow

    1) Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

    2) Under Settings, select Account and then Account Security

    3) Choose the option for Password at Sign In.

    4) Select Require Password Here

You will be asked for your Microsoft account password the next time you sign into your Xbox LIVE profile.

How to password protect your Xbox LIVE profile remotely

If you downloaded your Xbox LIVE profile to another console and it is not password protected, or someone has compromised your password, you can change the password from a remote location so that no one else can access your profile.

    Change your Microsoft account

    1) Sign into accounts.live.com using your Microsoft account.

    2) Go to Account Information and, next to Password, click Change.

You can also use your console to change your Microsoft account password.

Note: If the Xbox LIVE profile you downloaded does not require a password to sign in (You selected the Remember Password option), you will not be able to restrict someone from signing into your Xbox profile even if you change your Microsoft account password.

You can remove your Microsoft account password so that other people cannot access your Xbox profile on other consoles. This will ensure that a password is required before signing into your Xbox profile.

Remotely set a profile password from a computer:

    1) Sign into your Xbox LIVE account.

    2) Under Settings, select Account, and then Account Security

    3) Choose the option for Password at Sign In.

    4) Select On All Other Consoles.

Once you have done this, a password will be required to sign into your Xbox LIVE profile on all other consoles.

Accepting new Terms of Service without access to parent Microsoft Account

I'm 20 years old and was planning to promote my account to an Adult Account. However I cannot do that as I need to connect to Xbox Live to do so. I cannot connect to Xbox Live with this account because I need to accept the new Terms of Service. I cannot
accept the new Terms of Service without access to the Parent Account. My parent does not remember the password for the Parent account. The email used for the parent account is old. My parent does not have have enough information to retrieve the email or Microsoft
    Account.

I would create a new Microsoft Account and Gamertag but I would lose my Microsoft Points, Xbox Gold Status, and the games I have downloaded.

Is there any way for me to accept the new Terms of Service without access to the Parent Account associated to this one? I've read on other posts that you can accept the Terms of Service with a Child Account by logging onto Xbox.com but I am prompted to provide
    the associated Parent Account.

    Any help would be appreciated!!

Account not available to select while logging in

    Update

Although it shows my email, it does not recognize my password. After it did not accept my password I changed it for my microsoft account.

I suspect that it is spoofed.

    Account Recovery

    Hello MorganSimmons,

Thanks for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that your are unable to sign in to your account due to your console not accepting your new password. Are you attempting to log in to an Xbox One or Xbox 360? If you're using an Xbox One and no longer
receive an error message when logging in to
    the Microsoft website
    , we recommend
removing your profile and adding it back
to the console. Let us know if the console still does not want to accept the new password MorganSimmons!

    XBOX Live not working properly

it would now seem that because he has not accepted the new terms and conditions message that has been sent out today and does not know his password to logon to the Microsoft website to be able to accept it, this is why his live account is not working properly.
I have escalated it to XBOX support for the password reset Thank you for the advice though.

Xbox one not accepting Microsoft password

    I suggest you
    change your password
right now, and then see if the new password works on your Xbox.

Changing the password is always the best first step if you notice something strange happening, account-wise.

If you're still having trouble, then I'm guessing next that your Xbox
    could be having issues
connecting to the Xbox Live sign-in servers. Follow the trouble-shooter article and see if that helps.
