Xbox one, do you even wired connection?

So long story short, I used to use a wired connection when I first got my xbone, and it worked fine, but after moving I used wireless for a while and I was having some issues installing and game and figured it was because of the wireless not being consistent
or something. So I went and bought a new Ethernet cable (old roommate ran off with the old one) and plugged it in to find out that my xbone would't connect with the wire. I did a little bit of research and the only thing I could find was port forwarding, and
it actually worked initially, but now I'm back at square one, and yes the ports are still forwarded. I'm plugging it directly into the modem, which is through Comcast and is a technicolor tc8305c model. Any help would be appreciated.

Fried network card? Do the wireless and wired network adapters use the same chipset?

What do you mean "stuck in wired mode"? Does it think an ethernet cable is plugged in even when there isn't one?

Do you currently have your Xbox One connected wired or wireless? If you're able to, try connecting your Xbox One wired to your router, that may help with your connection troubles.

The modem is a technicolor tc8305c

Not using a router

My xbox one and one more xbox one

Both are using a wireless connection

I'm not sure if the UPnP is enabled or disabled

I normally have an open nat type, sometimes it's moderate or strict

It just says you are not connected when a wire is plugged in

And my ISP is comcast

Could you try using a different network cable? And could you also try using a different port on your modem?
