Discus and support Xbox One DNS Issue in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Titanfall wasn't finding a data center or was getting stuck on retrieving matchmaking list so I changed the DNS for some reason and now I can't connect...     Xbox One DNS Issue


    Titanfall wasn't finding a data center or was getting stuck on retrieving matchmaking list so I changed the DNS for some reason and now I can't connect to the internet at all on my xbox! I don't know what to do because I'm not very technical. I've tried
    a few DNS including Google's. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it Xbox One DNS Issue :)

    I thought this would be gone by now.

    1. Changing your DNS can improve your download speed but it is not simply because you changed DNS. What happens is if your ISP DNS is bad it can resolve you to node that is not well suited for what you are trying to do. If your ISP DNS is not good this can improve your download speeds.
    2. As it is more likely you hit the Xbox live download cap vs Dns issues. Depending on load the Xbox live server can limit your download speed.
    3. As Indie stated there is a chance that you had ERA's(exclusive resource apps) running and that will limit your download speed.
    4. Changing your DNS to google or Open DNS opens you up to information collection by google for selling to ad companies. At 1 point Cloud fare was offering free dns with a privacy policy.

    Set your dns back to automatic on your xbox one so it use the DNS supplied by your router/isp.

    Once changed back shut down your xbox one. Then restart your router once that is back up and running start up your xbox one.

    I don't have the option to set my DNS to automatic anymore. I don't know what happened but whenever I go on DNS settings it takes me straight to where I put in the DNS.

    This is a DNS issue. The Arris does not identify third party DNS for some reason and Xbox uses a 3rd party DNS. this is a Arris issue and not comcast.
