Xbox One DLCs & Downloadable Only Content

I have 2 xbox's in my household too. This is how I use them on both.

On one Xbox, download/install all your games, then set it as your "HOME XBOX" .....this means anyone can sign in and use that xbox to play all your games.

On the 2nd Xbox, download/install all your games, but do not set it as your "HOME XBOX".

Now your bother can play on your HOME XBOX and you on the other playing the same game at the same time>>>>>>>. NOTE:This only works for digital versions of your game.

If you have a disc of a game, you can still play the game on either Xbox, but NOT on both machines at the same time.

Yep from the look of things Ice and Philfy way to do this seems the only way at the moment. When I talked to Microsoft about this one of their representatives said I could do it just by adding all of the people I want as a family member and adding their
profile to my Xbox One by using the this is my home Xbox feature. Turns out though, at the moment anyways, when you sign-in to Microsoft's Xbox website the features to add permissions to individuals seems missing. Maybe like some of you said this type of sharing
feature is a work in progress. Some assurance from Microsoft support would be much appreciated as with this type of sharing not everyone in my household can play on both systems. I have both systems registered under my profile and all gamertags under my family
that are in my household.

1- External hard drive support was added to Xbox One in the June update, so you can back you digital content with an external hard drive.

2- Adding members to the family is not a work in progress, you can do it one the Xbox One itself, but adding people to your family does not give them permission to play games.

3- A partial work around to everyone being able to play on both consoles - On the console that is not your home console, your gamertag can be signed in the background and every other gamertag signed at the same time will have access to your digital games,
dlc and xbox live gold mutliplayer. Unlike Xbox 360 having a gamertag signed in does not put that profile into the game being played. The only time this would not work is when you were playing on the other console at the same time(A profile can only be signed
into live on one console at a time).

As an example when my nephew wanted to play a game when I wasn't playing and the home Xbox was not available I just signed in my profile and left to go do whatever it was I wanted to do and he signed into his profile and was able to play everything I had
purchased since my profile was signed on in the background.

I know you've already come to the conclusion that the way Ice and Philfy mentioned was the only workaround but I wanted to make sure you knew it wasn't because you couldn't add people to the family. The family sharing was removed before launch and the only
thing I've heard about since then is that they MIGHT look at a way implement in the future. So its not a work in progress, it is something that could become a work in progress someday...maybe.

user icon on the upper left of the home screen (not the globe, the gamerpic to the right of it). Select it, then chose Add New. You can then log in the Windows Live ID for a new gamertag.

Like I said earlier, unless something's changed that's
not possible. Your gamertag can only designate one Home Console. That Home Console is the one that allows anyone else to use your content. Only your gamertag can use your content on a console that isn't your Home Console.

 

@Chute how exactly is your xbox one downloading content from servers when you are installing a disc?
