    Xbox One disk drive not working


    I recently bought the Xbox One and for some reason the disk got stuck inside the consoles disk drive. I then followed this method to get the disk out manually https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/manually-eject-disk
    I got the disk out but now the disk drive doesn't work. When I try to insert a game it wont go in.

    Xbox one disk drive not working

    My Xbox one disk drive has not been working. I have tried he manual fix and restart fix that the support forums suggest yet nothing is working. If I insert a disk it makes a grinding noise and the disk only goes in 3/4 quarters in. Is there any
    way to fix this without taking it in for repair?

    Hello

    Firstly can you please try the manual eject as
    guided here     to make sure there is not another disc inside the console. If there are no discs inside the console and this issue is occurring then you will probably need to have the console serviced, you can arrange for the console to be sent to the
    repair and service centre here if nothing appears in the list you will first need to register your console.

    Problem resolved, put the original disk drive for that xbox in and the update will install, then replace it with the working one :)

    Xbox one does not start up game.

    If it is an original xbox one there is a good chance the disk drive is broken, as the original xbox one has a slight design flaw causing most xbox one disc drives to stop working over time.

    I have done research on this fully as have others . All the equipment is there for you to add a disk drive connectors etc. They just have a plate on the inside covering the place where a disk drive would be. However while adding a disk drive it just doesnt
    work . Its not designed for it. There must be some internal thing preventing it. my question is why would you want to try to add a disk drive to one that doesnt have one. That is your only option and it doesnt work . Either trade it in for a normal xbox with
    a disk drive. Why would you buy a all digital version if you wanted your prior games on there it just isnt possible. It has been tried by many and unfortunately none have gotten a disk drive to work in the all digital version nor does it make sense to keep
    trying.

    Have you tried the manual eject option linked by the forum mod?

    If so, you might want to head over to device repair and get that scheduled with support.

    I moved your post into a new thread so that we could tailor our support specifically to you!

    I noticed that you said that you have the same problem as the OP in the last thread but your disc drive goes in all the way. By same problem, did you mean that the disc drive makes a noise when a disc is
    inserted? If you have not already done so, you may wish to take a look at How to troubleshoot problems playing a disc on your Xbox
    One     to troubleshoot any issues that you have (if not the noise issue); however, if you are hearing a grinding noise from your disc drive, then you may well need to

    get your console serviced     as recommended by our Ambassador.
