Discus and support Xbox One Disc's won't read at all! in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; My band new Xbox one won't read my discs. Any suggestions?     Xbox One Disc's won't read at all!


    My band new Xbox one won't read my discs. Any suggestions? I have a very disappointed 9 year old!

    Help Xbox Won't Read Disc's!!!

    If you really do not want to send your xbox in to microsoft, you can buy a new disc drive kit online and replace it yourself. Doing so will void warranty, although I'm sure yours is already expired because you don't want to send it in. Your much better off
    either sending it in to be repaired or buy the new console.

    Help Xbox Won't Read Disc's!!!

    If you have tried all the simple things like removing all usb drives, clearing your system cache, and removing and plugging in all plugs again. Then before you send it in try tapping your xbox repeatedly and immediately after closing disc tray. Dont do it
    too hard, but dont do it too soft. This worked for me. just press close and start tapping while the disc is in. Until it has loaded then it should work fine

    Same here....Christmas morning....Set everything up.....Had trouble getting on live....then it later worked....Updated console and it doesnt read a single disc. Brand new out the box.....Tried all the reset and leave the power unplugged. Nothing works.....It
    must have a bad drive......Very Sad that so many people are experiencing the same problem and what a terrible day to be so disappointed. I bought a brand new one and I want a brand new one. This will turn people away from Microsoft products if this is
    not resolved in a proper manner. My son had a 360 and wanted the new one. He is very disappointed and I am too......Got this on black Friday and had no clue that this was a issue. I would have tried it out to make sure it worked if I knew this was a known
    problem. Very Sad on Microsoft.

    Sorry to hear about the disc read error, I can definitely understand how frustrating that could be. If you are continuing to experience the issue, I recommend checking out our troubleshoot
    problems playing a disc on Xbox One troubleshooting page     for some helpful steps. Give the troubleshooting steps a try and let us know how it goes!

    No Luck..........Broke out the box like everybody else.....Very poor QC on Microsoft. Thanks for the tips but none of the stuff works. It just broke out the box. The answer is replace it and get a extended warranty. I'm sure the drive will fail after a
    year warranty is up and then you get *** again.

    Replace it from where you bought it. Mine is the same. That s what I am doing. Amazon is great about replacing a defective unit out the box.

    Xbox One won't read game discs at all

    I started having this problem awhile ago, and found out blowing air into the disc tray helps... at least it did for 2 months, and now it's back to the problem again. I just got cod ww2 so not happy that it decided to show up again at this point in time.

    If you have them on the floor or in a TV Stand, anywhere where dust is bountiful and have pets running around, blow some air into each vent and use a knife or something similar to hold the disc tray open slightly, and blow air into it... may be that the
    reader needs a good cleaning.

    The problem is, some of the games I'm trying to play are new, and they spin and click about 7 times and then nothing. Just spinning. I'm going to try the dust can and see if that helps. I'd hate to have to send TWO machines for repairs!

    I noticed if I put in a disk while Xbox is booting and not fully up - then a game does not get marked as having disk inserted.

    But if you know the game in question - you can start it just fine.

    I don't have the launch game when disk inserted or similar checked.

    Maybe if you rely on that - this is no longer working.

    That you have to start manually - as a workaround until fixed.

    Hi,

    It's not the discs it's your console. If your console can not read DVD movies then it won't read Xbox 360 games either. DVD movie discs use the same type of discs that 360 games use (DVD-9).

    The Xbox One has two lasers to read discs. One for Blu-rays - which Xbox One discs games are made of - and one for reading DVD's and Xbox 360 games.
