Xbox One Disconnects/Reconnects to Internet Approx Every 15 Seconds

What do you call an Xbox One that won't maintain a connection to the internet?

A worthless piece of *** and a complete waste of my hard-earned American dollars.

I assure you, this is no laughing matter. Allow me to tell you my tale of woe.

I recently moved from the promised land. Where the bandwidth flowed like water, and 'lagging' was a Halo 2 era term not used in those parts for many years. "I wish there was a way you could know that you're in the good ole days while you're still in them".
My roommate had an Xbox One and I loved playing it when he wasn't used to watching BS shows on Netflix like undercover boss or some ***.

Since then, I moved out, but loved the Xbox One so much that I picked up one on Black Friday. I especially love Battlefield (or as I call it, Cops and Robbers). Ever since I've purchased this Xbox in my new apartment, it disconnects and reconnects to the
internet faster than faster than the media can decide if Donald Trump is serious or not. Of course, this renders my Xbox completely worthless, as everything is based on the Internet for this
[Mod Removed] thing. (Remember when the biggest trouble shooting errors just involved blowing the dust out of a cartridge?!) (Oh, and good job 'next gen consoles' on completely destroying the best part of video games, drunken splitscreen!)

Yes, I've restarted my router. I wasn't born in 1938.

Yes, I cleared my cache.

Yes, I deleted and reloaded my profile.

Yes, I frightened my wife with a Hulk level rage pummel into the drywall.

No, I don't plan on getting my apartment deposit back.

Yes, i would love some help figuring this thing out before I simply return it because, hey, if I can't play it then it's just one more item in my apartment collecting dust.

Yes, I am literally still using my PS3 more often than my Xbox One, and it's 2016. Sony 1 Microsoft 0.

Yes, I plugged in an ethernet cord. I wasn't born in 1938.

AND I SWEAR TO WHATEVER DEITY YOU CARE ABOUT, IF SOMEONE TELLS ME TO RESTART THIS THING I WILL ASDFJ;OIGDHPFIODHXIUVBH.

Please help. And honestly, I'm not mad at you, Microsoft, I'm just disappointed.

Controller desyncing and Xbox Live disconnecting.

My Xbox One has been repeatedly desyncing my controller and then ~5 seconds later my console will disconnect from Xbox Live. If I'm in a part I can still hear every one clearly through the TV until it disconnects from Xbox Live. The controller will eventually
reconnect to the console and the console will reconnect to the internet. The problem occurs randomly. Does anyone know how to remedy the issue?

Another thing to try is to disconnect your xbox one from the internet and install the disk then. Reconnect to the internet and download the 15-20GB update after that.

 

More than likely , your router is disconnecting from xbox live every few seconds , not your Xbox ....but list how your connected and we will check it out ... modem and router model #s , and who is your isp.... have you done any port forwarding or are you
using UPNP , it would be rare for an Xbox to not stay connected both wired and wireless , also is your NAT open and will it complete the network test...

 

Every time I run the network test, it says I'm connected. However, it'll disconnect within 20 seconds of that test and then reconnect every time.

I am not using UPNP.

I have no idea what a NAT is or if mine is open.

My ISP is Brighthouse.

I kinda almost knew it would be an arris and bright house, LOTS of threads on that combination, if you call them they may be aware of it and just give you a differant router , they have for others on here...

Router/Modem Model Number TG1672G - Arris[/quote]There's an ongoing issue with TG167x serie, deployed by Brighthouse. This is all going back to the November release of the Xbox One OS version.

As there's no resolution in sight, I suggest that you follow Bimnog's suggestion; Reach out to your ISP and have them know about your/this situation.

if your currently on wireless dude you might be experiencing some intense wireless interference, I don't want to get to in detail about what could cause this but if you are

changing the wireless channel could help immensely but fyi you do have to restart the router when making settings changes

 

It could be some wireless interference but like previous posts have stated that particular configuration does not work well with the XBOX One since the November update.

I would definitely call the ISP because there have been so many reports on this exact issue they have to be aware of it.
