Xbox One disconnecting from xbox live when playing games

I recently purchased an xbox one from game and have been really disappointed that every game I have played online had resulted in me disconnecting from the Internet therefore not completing an online match which has become really frustrating therefore
asking for advice on how to solve this issue as xbox live chat wasn't of any help to me.

Disconnecting from xbox live

so I've had the original xbox one the very first one that came out and have had no problems at all when I'm playing. So then I go out and buy the xbox one S and I've been having problems with disconnecting from xbox live while playing games. So after I got
tired of it and switched back to my original xbox and I was thinking maybe it was just the xbox one S that disconnects me from xbox live. So like 2 months later i go out and purchase a brand new xbox one X, the newest system out. And after just one day I've
been having problems with disconnecting from xbox live. So can someone help? Why does the very first original xbox not have a problem with disconnecting from xbox live?

 

Have you checked your nat settings ? There also a multiplayer setting you can check as well see if that brings up any faults?

 

Could be a number of reasons ...

First how are you connected, Wired or Wireless? if Wireless is it possible for you to try a cable and see if that works?

Have you run a Network Test? under settings go to "Network" and click on "Detailed Network Test" ( I believe that's what it is called ) and post back the results, download/upload speed, NAT ( Open Moderate or Strict ) Latency etc ...

Is everything else in the house working ok, computers/phones etc?

I guess ( if you haven't already ) you could try doing a hard reset of the console to see if that solves it ( when the console is on, hold the power button on front of console for about 10 seconds, let it shut down, leave for 2 minutes and fire it back up
)

Who is your broadband provider? BT, Virgin, SKY ... ? it also might be worth giving them a call if all else fails just to rule out a potential problem on your line.

I'm sure if you post back results people here will be able to help/point you in the right direction.

I'm connected wirelessly and have also tried wired and recieved the same problem and when conducting the tests it showed nat type as open, download speed is 20mb, upload speed is 2.88, latency is 187ms, and witless strength of 100%, I have previously had
an xbox 360 on the same internet and have never had this problem so I doubt it's the Internet as I was on the 360 testing it and never was disconnected.

 

^ All sounds ok, I know the latency seems a bit high when comparing to a speed test through your computer but I know a few have said that when running a network test on Xbox One it runs to a server in America so it will be high.

I'm not really the best person for advice on this ( hopefully others will see this and offer some help ) but I'd suggest putting a post in the Xbox LIVE Support Forums ( I'll post link on bottom of post ) to see if anyone else has some ideas/tips.

Again though I would advise giving your broadband provider a call just to rule out a problem your end. Not so long back my daughter was getting regular drops on her iPad and BT just changed the wireless channel, run through a few settings and it solved the
problem.
