Xbox one: disc vs digital download.

Hey I have comcast and I have a 300gb monthly data limit. I've recently downloaded cod advanced Warfare 3 times due to having to replace my new console and each download was 40+ gb so the month is half way over and I have reached my limit already. So my
question is if I want to buy gta 5 will buying the disc copy have me use 40gb of my Internet data? I need to know this because I really want to play the game but can't due to my data limit, so any answers please?

If Microsoft wants me to convert to digital downloads and NOT BUY A PHYSICAL DISC...they need to make digital downloads cheaper than disc!!!!!

$45.00 for digital vs $60.00 for disc.....THEN IM GOING DIGITAL ,......

Disc vs Digital Download Size

I was debating whether to get CoD Advanced Warfare as a disc or as a download. What is the download size difference between the two? Since I'm assuming no one knows the sizes yet, does someone know the download size for Ghosts as a disc vs as a digital download?

Well, if you purchase a digital game, it has to download, install, and then update - it will try to do the 1st 2 steps at the same time. If you buy a disc, you only have to worry about the last 2 steps and if you take your console offline, it won't try to
install and update at the same time, which will help make the install go faster (since the install doesn't require being online with a disc).

Buy the disc version so that the only time your installation will eat up your monthly GB limit is when it has to get any updates that aren't included in the disc

I have comcast, I believe the 300GB is a soft cap. As long as you don't go over 300 regularly, there should be no problem.

That's right. In fact you can play the game completely offline if you chose. Of course that won't let you play any multiplayer.

If you want to check how much bandwidth you Xbox One is using, go to 'Settings' > 'Network' > 'Bandwidth Usage' (on right hand side).

 

as of right now digital is just for lazy gamers whilst disc is for smart consumers that realize with a mere 10 minute drive to a store and getting up occasionally to change out disc you get more consumer rights. Until digital can provide the same consumer
rights its a total scam. Do gaming a favor and stick to disc until they give us the rights consumers deserve. After all is it better to be able to take a disc game you didnt like in the first few hours back to the store to trade it in for something you maybe
would like, or is it better to be stuck with the digital version (read fine print, "no refunds on digital content") you now wont play because you didnt like it? hrmmm tough decision there...*sarcasm*.

 

@6 ft. Is all of your music and movies also only on disc?

 

I want to buy that app for my phone...but the disc won't fit

 

@zen does a cd/movie cost even close to as much as a game? hrrmmmm generalize much? If they make a game cost $5-$15 digitally then I wouldnt have any complaints.

 

If digital was more prevalent the prices would fall, the sooner they come inline with PC games the better IMO.

I have to say I would have purchase DA if the price was £10 cheaper on digital, which would make it £45 still above what I would like to pay, then with 0% EA access discount it would be £40, which then makes it an ok buy, but at present its on the waiting
list.

 

Burnin TODI the point is I've already passed the 300gb cap and I've exhausted all of my 3 free months and they're currently charging me 10 dollars for every 50gb I use over the limit.

 

Yeah, you didn't initially say that you have already gotten messages from comcast with warnings, etc. I thought it was your first time nearing the soft cap.
