Xbox One Disc Reading Issues and Other Weird Issues

Hey so I have not had an issue with my XboxOne until the past couple weeks. One day the system is working perfectly fine, the next it says it can not read the disc, power cycling it doesn't work, and also when I eject my disc the system will turn off.

The only thing that works is unplugging the console and even sometimes that does not work.

Any suggestions? and any one else have this issue?

My Xbox 360 won't read some discs. Help?

I am having trouble with my xbox (My xbox is one of the older versions not the slim one) reading discs. It says "open tray" almost everytime I insert a disc. The weird thing is that It's not having any issues when I try to play Halo 3,Halo 4 and NBA 2k12 . But when I try to play some of my others games like NBA 2k13,Battlefield 3 (This one is brand new) ,GTA IV,MW2,Bioshock 2 my xbox won't read the disc or after opening and closisng the tray a lot of times it will read the games but then I get the "Disc is Unreadable." message after a few minutes. Does anyone else have experienced this issue?

Disc reading issues.

To clarify, if you recently purchased you Xbox One, it may be quicker to exchange it at the retailer. I would check in with the store you purchase for before shipping off your console.

You should receive instructions to your e-mail with steps on how to ship your Xbox One. You would need to take the parcel to the depot that the included shipping label is intended for.

Try other discs (like movies or music) If those discs work check your disc for damages, if not you should send your console for repairs:

That is weird. It could be the eye that reads the disc creating the pixelated issue.

Do all Blu-rays and DVD's have this playback issue?

Games working fine isn't weird, all games run entirely from hard drive, even the disc games. If the drive is able to read the disc enough to pass the ownership check, then it will run normaly. If, on the other hand, disc installs fail with read errors,
or take an unusually long time to install, this could indicate an issue with the Blu-ray drive.

Is it just this one game or do other Xbox 360 discs have issues?

The Series X optical drive contains two lasers, one for reading DVD discs and one for reading Blu-Ray discs.

Have you also tried DVD movie discs to see if they play? They must be DVD discs, not HD or UHD BD discs.

Unfortunately if the drive has a fault reading discs, you'll need to get it repaired. If your console is out of warranty it will be at a cost.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you are having issues with a disc. Reason you are getting the error is the console is not reading the license from the disc or reading the disc correctly. Here is a guide for

disc issues on Xbox one. Do other discs work on the console?
