Xbox One Disc Reading Error (have not even played with any discs yet?)

I have recently received the following message from my Xbox:

"IMPORTANT SYSTEM UPDATE MESSAGE

August 29, 2014

Thank you for being a valued Xbox customer. We have identified this console as one that has a disc error when trying to read Xbox One game discs. To fix this issue and continue to receive system updates, you must return your console to Microsoft for repair.
We apologize for this error or any inconvenience.

TWO OPTIONS TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE:

To initiate a Standard Repair please visit
http://myservice.xbox.com and submit a repair form or contact (800) 4MY-XBOX for Advanced Exchange which sends you a replacement console first and requires a hold on your credit card."

The strange part is that I haven't even used any discs to play games for my One. I have only played downloaded games. Is it worth going through this trouble or should I try a few hard discs and if i don't get an error to just keep it?

STRANGE Unreadable Disc Whats the problem? :S

Does any other game work? If not it could be that it's a disc drive error with reading discs...

 

battle field 4 not working

Well , Im sorry hear that Your Battlefield 4 not working. Well is your disc tray reading properly? Have you had any problems with your xbox reading discs?

 

I also have this exact issue. I own titanfall and destiny both digital copies. I did read a blu ray just fine this morning. Although it does specify it not reading xbox one game discs. With dragon age Inquisition releasing in Nov and as of now there is no
info on a digital version for xb1 I would like to have this corrected but only if I need to.

 

It is honestly up to you if you want to deal with it or not. Personally, I would get it fixed. Just more convenient in the future when you have friends come over with their disc version of a game. Of course this is my opinion. Also, set up a standard repair,
it might be a little longer, but you are guaranteed that your console was fixed, and not just replaced with a non working console.

 

I sent it and received it back and it seems to be fine. When I initially got this message (as an xbox message, not email), I received a $20 redeemable code for my inconvenience. I was just going to redeem it when I got the console back so I went into to
my messages just to find out all my messages were deleted (including the $20 code). Got transferred around about 5 times and no xbox rep has ever heard of this and refused to give me another code.

Long story short, awful customer service.

I just received my xbox one console back because of the important system update message. It stopped me from updating. They told me my system was one that needed to be repaired or replaced.When i sent my system it was in top shape but when it was shipped
back they sent the system back saying that it was tampered with. A brand new system never used a hard copied disc and played digital copies before that system update message. Xbox serviced
[Mod Removed] me over good.
