Xbox One Disc Reading Error 0x21

This error code started popping up on my xbox one a couple of days ago, around the time when I installed the new update that was released. Once in a while, when I put a game in, the xbox tells me that the disc may be dirty and I need to clean it. If you
go to settings>network settings>Advanced Settings>Alternate Mac Address>Clear<Restart the xbox<then go to settings again>disc & blu-ray>persistent storage>clear persistent storage, this will fix the problems, temporarily though. That is the big issue. Is this
an xbox one update gone wrong or is the console messed up? I have been doing some research and it seem like multiple people are having this problem after installing the update. Hopefully xbox gives us an update or something soon. But for people who are currently
having this issue, the steps above will resolve the issue for now.

MICROSOFT? - DVD drive noises after march update - what's happening?

My Xbox One has also been having issues with reading discs. Ever since the march update, any time I switch discs I get error code (0x21) saying that my disc is dirty or damaged. The only way I am able to get the system to read the disc is to do a hard reset,
which includes unplugging the system. On top of that, anytime I switch discs I have to do the same reset, and I am unable to even play the same game after turning the console off via its regular sleep mode.

Since update xbox has not been reading disc bringing up error code (0x21) .Me and meany others suffering from this issue, works fine for a while
then if you wish to change games it ejects the game then snatches it back in , after ejecting game again and inserting another game it won't read it , to get past this you have to restart the console...please fix

 

yeah me too. If i want use another disc, i have to reboot console. Please solve this problem soon

 

Hard reset your console. Then unplug it from wall outlet.

Now unplug your home modem for 1 minute, plug back in once connected to the intefnet reboot your system. Should fix for awhile.

 

I have the same issue with discs since the update. The only thing I do is shut down the console until the power brick goes amber, then power back on. I only use "Energy Saver". Hopefully they get this worked out soon.

they know about it. plenty of the beta preview people have the same issue. if you are part of the beta go to the forums and state in the appropriate thread

this has been a giant problem for me and my friends and it is the reason why i am unregistering from the beta. microsoft should include a disclaimer telling that it may cause your system from running properly if you are a beta update user. if this problem
(all my games suddenly not working)doesn't get solved soon, i am just gunna return my xbox one for a ps4. my brother keeps telling me to trade it in for the ps4 because he owns one and hasn't had any problems. i have already returned my first xbox one because
the kinect stopped working about a month ago, now my brand new replacement cant play a single disc without manually restarting......... i am currently very unhappy with the xbox one. i wish it were as great as the 360 is!!!!! thats the whole reason i chose
the xbox one this generation, but i am beginning to regret that choice........ Please fix ASAP

I'm pretty sure there is a disclaimer when accepting the terms for the Beta preview. I agree though its very annoying, but i expected some problems Beta testing updates.

 

im unregistering as well yea i expected some problems but this many problems?? from the first update not being able to chat or play with any of your friends to this having to restart my xbox every time i want to switch a game and its not only the beta testing
thats making my xbox one experience terrible but the console itself is just very buggy and i dont know how many times ive had to unplug my xbox. i loved the xbox 360 so did every other xbox live member but this xbox one is not living up to its name...becoming
very discouraged

 

Don't get discouraged - I guarantee you that the Xbox 360 had just as many issues when it 1st released. Trust me, I was there...
