  1. Xbox one disc reader problems

So my xbox one will not read discs well i does once and awhile like i can put a game in and it does recognize that there is one but i can keep trying putting the game in over and over and 1 out of 25 time it works. I notice this issue after my warranty
is up. the thing is i see this is a common problem people are having and It seems that its a design flaw. why has xbox not not made a recall/repair offer not available? or is there?

    :)

    Fixing the disc drive reader?

My xbox has not been reading any discs, so I can't play games or watch movies. I took apart the Xbox to move the reader forward because it was stuck. It worked for a day, but now it is back to not working properly. Should I buy a new reader or replace the box with the disc drive in it?

Slim can't read Black Ops 2?

I've had similar problems to this. I tried playing Dead Island when it was brand new on my xbox only to get "Open Disc Tray" message. This meant disc reader is dead. Then my L4D2 disc stopped being read so that means new disc.

So either the disc reader is having problems or somethings with the disc. Hope your problem gets resolved soon.

There is not a recall on the Xbox. Have you checked Here to see if the troubleshooting can fix your issue? If that doesn't work you can use the site to set up a repair
or contact support to do so.

The reason why you might think it's a "common problem" is, because if you search for an issue on the internet, you will ONLY see posts regarding that issue.

No person in their right mind will ever go to an internet forum and tell you "Hey guys, I just put in the disc in my Xbox One and it worked! It simply detected the disc and it worked flawlessly. I'll post again tomorrow, if the disc is read properly again!"

You will ALWAYS read posts like "My console won't read my disc. Help!"

And since you only read posts about discs failing to read, you might get the impression it's a "common" problem.

But let's try to help you with that issue. Sometimes, there might be a program that is stuck accessing the drive, that blocks the operating system to properly detect a disc, as the program that last accessed the drive might have crashed, and won't "let go"
of the drive. Also, even though I take good care of my discs, sometimes "invisible" dirt (or as I call them "phantom fingerprints") give the console trouble reading a disc.

So let's kill two birds with one stone, and do the following to resolve both:

Eject the disc that is not detected, and then hold the power button on the console for about 10 seconds.

This will end all programs and completely shut down the console ending the stuck disc accessing process, compared to having it in "instant on" mode, where the console is constantly running in the background, downloading and updating your games and it's system.

Turn the console again, and it should show a green bootup screen.

Since that boot process takes a few minutes, take your disc to the kitchen, and apply a small drop of mild dishwasher soap to the silver surface of the disc.

Hold the disc with one finger in the center hole, and the other fingers only on the edge of the disc. With wet fingers, "massage" the soap around the silver side with spiraling motions. After the complete silver surface is covered in soap, rinse the disc
under running water. Shake the disc several times and wipe the remaining drops with a soft, lint-free cloth.

When you return to the console, it should have finished booting, and you can insert the disc.

The console should now detect the disc properly.

Is there a way to load discs in without putting one disc in at a time?

I think the answer here is No. Not 100% sure on the question though.

Are you asking is there a way to "stack" more than one disc in the reader? The Xbox only has the one disc reader and it only holds one disc at a time.

Are you thinking of connecting an external disc reader on USB and hoping to queue things that way? Don't know that will work based on drivers being needed.
