Xbox One Disc Problem

I've already sent my Xbox one in repair for this problem. But, it seems it has trouble reading discs, at least DVDs. Blu-rays seem to be fine, except for the occasional hiccup, possibly due to dual-layering.

A quick fix is always to power down fully, either by holding down the buttonuntil it shuts off or using the power option (which just leads to a constant reboot screen.) But, what I would suggest is that in the settings, there would be a button that says
'manual eject' and that button would go through checks, and if any of the checks signify there being a disc in it, if ejecting while nothing is in damages the disc drive, it goes through its ejecting sequence. If ejecting while a disc isn't in doesnt hurt
anything, then it would just pretend a disc is in and ejects whether a disc is in or not.

I found out that if I leave my games in for about a day and hit eject, it won't do anything and will say nothing is in there. Which would prompt me to either paperclip it out, with the manual eject button on the side, or to power on from a fully off state.
Which both takes time, and requires the Xbox to be off, at least if you don't want to risk damaging the Xbox.

But this button would save a lot of headache, and there should he an option that would give you an option to have the Xbox power down fully every few days. Instead of just turning instant on to off, but saying 'every 3 days, power down to fully off.' And
having a selector for says, like 1-14 or something.

DVD and Blu ray disc stopped issue

Hi guys.

My Xbox One plays games, both disc ans downloaded one, perfectly

and all the apps work perfectly as well, but whenever

I put a DVD or a Blu Ray disc, I get a "Disc Stopped" message.

Is the problem with my console or the Blu ray app ?

And what is the solution with this problem ?

 

Disc drives malfunctioning in Xbox One units

I just read an article that says Microsoft is acknowledging faulty disc drives in some Xbox One units. Some people are having a problem with the drive making a grinding noise and not reading the disc, so if you have this problem, you're not alone!

 

Sorry to hear that you're having issues.

As for the issue with not reading discs, please try the following to see if it helps.

1. Go to Settings

2. Select Disc & Blu Ray

3. Uncheck Enable BD Live

4. Click on Persistent Storage and Clear it 3 times

5. Power cycle the console

If you are having issues ejecting the discs then that suggests and issue with the drive itself and should be sent back in for repairs.

As for your suggestion, that is a good one and should be posted in the Feedback Forums for consideration.

Turns out, as soon as I typed this up my disc drive wouldn't read, wouldn't eject, and wouldn't accept a disc. Had to manually eject my disc, and it wouldn't let me put it in when it powered on. Made a sound clearly stating it wasn't working.

But I already did service it, and its out of warrenty. I know the disc drive is going bad, again, just one of the perks being am early adopter am I right? Haha.

As for the suggestion, I'm sure they already have it in there somewhere. I'm already getting frustrated so I don't really want to navigate over there, (don't have a computer to work off of) so its a pain in the butt.

 

Sorry to here about it bud. I have the same problem Broseph. I sent it in and they "repaired" it. It worked for a very short while and then stopped again. I talked to them on chat and did everything they said and finally sent it in again. They sent it back
extremely fast with a note saying nothing was wrong with the system. It still does not work. I have 4 controllers and 20 hard copy games and a few digital ones. Sucks being out all the money and seems like they don't care.
