    Xbox one disc issues


    Upon booting my device everything seemed fine, then I entered my call of duty ghosts disc and it was unresponsive. I entered a few other discs and I was prompted a few times to insert a disc such as a DVD BluRay or an Xbox One game. I rebooted my system,
    turned it off completely(not standby mode) and it worked fine from then onwards.

    Soon after, I booted up my system and my kinect, despite being plugged in correctly, did not boot up and my controller was partially unresponsive, i.e I couldn't select console off when trying to turn it off.

    I am am currently running the OS version 6.2.10803.0

    Xbox one disc issues

    2 options. Return console to retailer for exchange or money back. Or visit Xbox.com service center and register the serial # asap as to generate a warranty. Then schedule a repair.

    The version 6.2.10803.0 is ONLY for beta testers selected by Microsoft.

    I got a different problem. This happens maybe 3 out of 10 times. When I go to put a disc in the tray the system will simply do nothing. It will not pull the disc in, nor does it make any noises, nor do I got any error codes. But on a few occasions it froze
    my system. I wasn't even able to power the system off fully. The power light would just keep flashing for hours. I wasn't able to turn the system back on unless I unplugged the power. This is how I found a solution. If I unplugged the system for a minute and
    let it reboot The disc tray would work fine again. I got a replacement system coming in the mail now.

    I had to send my new console back because when I inserted a disc I would hear an awful grinding noise. Because I had the Titanfall bundle I never knew there was an issue until I tried to play a movie. I would click on the Blu Ray app and I would get a message
    that read NO DISC INSERTED.

    Don't send your console back. A friend of mine and I are having the exact same issues today. Must be something at their end.

    Edit: I'm on OS 6.2.10698.0 which looks lower than yours. Accidental rollback perhaps?

    Hey there,

    Are you able to try other Backward Compatible Xbox 360 discs on your Xbox One to see if this occurs with that one disc or with multiple discs? If the issue only occurs with that one disc, check for scratches and attempt to wipe the disc down with a micro
    fiber cloth. If the issue continues, that disc may need to be replaced.

    Disk reading issues

    From what I understand, Xbox One games are always Blu-Ray discs...so, if the games are XBox One games, then it sounds like it's an issue with the discs themselves if the console will play a Blu-Ray movie without issue.

    If the discs are Xbox 360 discs (DVD discs), then it sounds like the Laser diode thing is faulty if non-game DVDs sometimes have issues

    Hey there,

    Have you had a chance to look at our
    Xbox One Disc Troubleshooter    ? If not, run through each of those steps first to determine what the issue could be. If the issue persists, and other Xbox One discs continue to work, your disc may need to be replaced.
