Xbox one disc games taking days to install

So my son has the black xbox one...for about 4 years i think so we do alot of disc games, since we travel in an rv and internet isnt always available. So he'll get a new game and it takes 4 days for it to install....ive cleared alot of stuff off the xbox of downloads who doesnt use, so he has plenty of memory/space. Ive tried hooking to the internet to try and get it to load faster....and idk what to do. The whole point of a disc game, is suppose to be able to pop it in and get to playing....but that is not what is happening. It didnt do this in the beginning, it maybe took an hr or 2, but not 4 days....and im sure its not good for the xbox to run on for 4 daya straight. Has anyone had this issue and know what to do? Ive done restarts and unplugging from the back for a hard restart. TIA

It'll be a decent amount of space yea but the disc version still installs the whole game. Madden 25 is 12.5 gigs in the xbox store and it's taking up that much even though I have the disc version. Disc games are dead unless you plan on trading in one day
of course.

Okay for those of you who are wondering why does it take 13-15 hours sometimes to install a game on the Xbox One

If its taking even hour to install one game from a Blu-ray disc - and assuming your not downloading an update at the same time - it won't be due to the complexity of the compression of the assets on the disc. Basically, anything more than hour
installing purely from a disc indicates a hardware failure.

Typically when you install an Xbox One game for the first time there will also be game update, these updates install at the same time as the disc install.

If for example your connection speed was slow at say 2 Mbit/s and the update was 10 GB, that means that your install time will be approximately 12 hours. It doesn't matter how big the game is on disc. It will take 12 hours to install purely down to the internet
connection speed.

Regardless of the disc, what type of game it is, a typical offline install of an Xbox One game should take no more than 20 minutes.

something else to be aware of, if you buy a game on disc, it will have to be fully installed on the console and if connected to the internet, the X1 will download patches before installing the game, and some of these games have massive day one updates that
will great increase the time to install a game. so something to keep in mind, and if it becomes more than you can bear, take the X1 offline and install the disc, it will be quicker.

Think about it. Having to have the disc in prevents piracy. Because I could install it on my Xbox. Then, take the disc out, be playing the game while I give the disc to all my friends so they can install and play it.

It assures that disc can only be played on one Xbox at a time.
