Xbox One Disc Games and redeem codes

When a game is included in an Xbox One bundle, it is either in the form of a game disc or (more frequently nowadays) a redemption code. That code is redeemed to your account, which means you can reinstall it at any time. In order to get the game, you need
to be sure you're signed in with the account to which the redemption code was redeemed. If the game was on a disc, just reinsert the game disc and install it again.

Digital games are region locked to the country that it was bought in/the currency it was bought in but disc games on Xbox one are not region locked and all Xbox one disc games will work in any Xbox one.

For example, if you're in the USA and you buy a French code for a game it will not let you redeem it and vice-versa.

Something to keep in mind, if the code is in a 360 game disc you may have to redeem it on a 360. I ran into this when I found a Ms. Pacman code I hadn't redeemed in one of my games. Tried redeeming on the web and One, did not work until I went to my 360.

Once you redeem the code, the game should start downloading on your console. You don't need a disc since it's a digital download and there is no way to burn the game to a disc.

many games come with the DLC as redeem codes. not sure about the xbox one version, but i know for a fact that the 360 disc that comes in the Legendary Edition (or whatever they called the one that bundles the Taken King and past DLC) is 100% exactly the
same as the original standard release of the game. they probably just had many copies unsold or didn't want to spend extra money to create a new disc, so they repress or relabel (however they do it) the same old disc and add in redeemable codes. this is
a very common thing when buying "game of the year editions" used that include DLC. you have to check and make sure that the game actually includes the DLC on disc.
