Xbox One Disc Drive Whirring noise when inserting a disc

    Hi all,

I'm here mainly to fill you in on an ongoing fiasco with Microsoft at the moment. Over 2 weeks ago I heard a loud whirring noise any time i put a disc in the Xbox, but i noticed that maybe 1 in 5 times i put the disc in that it would play and the noise would
disappear. Fearing that it would give up sometime soon I ordered an advanced exchange from the Service Centre. This would have taken 3-5 days. 3 Days later I'm tracking the parcel on UPS website and it says it is near my house and is in van for delivery. I
wait, and wait and wait and all of a sudden the status changes to "Return to Sender: Recipient Refused Delivery". Being that I had taken day off work to receive this package and I know for a fact that nobody came to my door that entire day, UPS or Microsoft
had made a mess up somewhere. I checked with support and they had my address right so I've no idea what happened.

So from here, I thought this sucks, but they'll just send another one out. No. It has to be passed to various different departments, all of whom have successfully ignored every email I have sent. I was told it wasn't as simple to just resend package, it
has to be passed to the Tech Team, so It's passed to them and Im told theres a 4 day turn around and they will contact you with an answer then. I wait four days, on that evening i get a response saying thanks for your correspondence, we will contact you within
2-3 days. We are now out of that time scale now and I have absolutely no answer or idea what is going to happen. I contact the call centre who are all very nice but none can say anything different other than the Tech Team have it now and there's nothing we
    can do.

Through my frustration I think Ill just go online and shoot some people, to relieve the stress. Counting myself lucky that the xbox still "kind of" worked sometimes. So Im trying and trying to get disc working but it won't work. Then i realise through my
efforts of doing so that the central hole through my battlefield disc has been grinded almost right through. The noise I am hearing is that the disc is going in but not in position and it is not turning when the "spinning disc holder thingy" is moving and
therefore the noise is it grinding through the disc. Would it not have been sound advice from someone at Microsoft, whom I told that it still worked now and again, for them to say, DO NOT USE disc drive whilst this replacement process is ongoing. To save my
    breaking my own disc.

I don't really believe posting my woes here serves any other purpose than to warn anyone who ends up having the same issue that

A: if the delivery of new console goes wrong, Microsoft will disown and forget about you.

B: Do Not Keep trying to get the disc to work as you will end up wrecking the game disc just like I have done.

    Thanks for reading.

P.S. With the advanced exchange for any of you who don't know what it is, you provide a credit card and Microsoft will send you out a new console first, then when you receive it you put your broken xbox in the box the new one came in and post it back. The
reason for the credit card is in case someone decided to keep both consoles, credit card is used as insurance. You have 14 days to send you console back or they will charge your card £326.

I haven't received my new console, but Im willing to bet that in the next few days, my credit card is going to be charged £326. Not out of spite, but its just the way this whole thing has been dealt with that I hold no faith that it isnt going to get worse
    before it gets better.

    Thanks again.

    :)

Disc Drive Does Not Accept Discs

the disc drive in the replacement xbox one console i received from microsoft makes a whirring noise when inserting a disc... only while it is accepting the disc. sounds like it might be the motor that pulls the disc inside the drive. anyone having any issues
    with this?
