    Xbox One Disc Drive Stopped Working Altogether


    Today my disc got stuck in my Xbox one (again), and I had to manually eject it. I finally got it out, but when I went to put in a new disc I found that it would not take it, and there were no signs of it trying and nothing stopping me from just shoving the
    disc in. I restarted the console multiple times, and still there was no sign of it trying to take in the disc and not even any sounds when starting the system.

    Both are preview updates, but I just opted out on the local xbox because my disc drive stopped working

    And you may have to setup a repair if your drive stopped working and you don't want to buy a new console. Good luck!!

    Hi Likerin,

    Thanks for keeping us updated. Are you able to play any movies that are on disc? If you are having issues with discs playing and ejecting, the disc drive could be on its way to stop working altogether. We recommend to try the new disc of Far Cry in another
    Xbox console. If it works fine in that one, then most likely your console will need a repair.

    Some Games Not Spinning Up.

    One thing I have noticed is that if a do not push a disc into the disc drive hard enough for the disc drive to take it in first time then the disc wont register when it eventually goes into Xbox One. So I always make sure to give the disc a little bit of
    good push into the disc drive and disc run first time no problems.

    This of course could be a totally different issue to yours altogether.

    Xbox one does not start up game.

    If it is an original xbox one there is a good chance the disk drive is broken, as the original xbox one has a slight design flaw causing most xbox one disc drives to stop working over time.

    What you have described is indications of the disc drive failing. While it may be working off and on right now, one day it will stop working altogether. You should contact support in your region and set up a repair (or you can do so online). If
    your console is within the warranty period you won't have to pay, but if you are beyond that you will be charged for the repair (support will tell you when you set up the repair).
