    XBOX ONE DISC DRIVE NOT READING DISCS


    I tried putting in a disc from one of my Xbox one games in, and the console still says to insert disc. I also tried playing one of my dvds and nothing happened. Did I do something wrong? UPDATE: MAY HAVE FOUND SOLUTION TO PROBLEM.

    Xbox One disc drive still necessary thanks to ‘bandwidth and game size’

    You've probably heard that the disc drive for the Xbox One was considered non-existent one time for the design by Microsoft, making it a digital-only device. But thanks to this article I saw, it's still there.

    If your solution does not work then please try this:

    1. Go to Settings

    2. Select Disc & Blu Ray

    3. Uncheck Enable BD Live

    4. Click Persistent Storage and Clear it 3 times

    5. Power cycle the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds until it shuts down

    If that doesn't work then you may need to send the console in for a repair

    Are you playing the games with the Xbox 360 game disc in the drive? It is no different than Xbox One disc-based games, in that you must have the game disc in the drive to play it.

    Your disc won't be still inside your console. The Xbox One Blu-ray drive (just like all optical drives) is an enclosed unit and can only take one disc at a time there is literally nowhere for a disc to go, other than be picked up by the drive and spun. If
    there is already a disc there or otherwise stuck in the drive, the other disc wouldn't go in.

    That is correct! The next generation of Xbox One S wont feature a disc drive. While other Xbox One S with disc drives will be available.

    Some Games Not Spinning Up.

    One thing I have noticed is that if a do not push a disc into the disc drive hard enough for the disc drive to take it in first time then the disc wont register when it eventually goes into Xbox One. So I always make sure to give the disc a little bit of
    good push into the disc drive and disc run first time no problems.

    This of course could be a totally different issue to yours altogether.
