    Xbox one disc drive not accepting discs fully


    Have tried to insert a disc into the disc drive on our Xbox one and it accepts it, but it makes a funny noise and doesn’t go all the way in, it just sticks out by about half a cm! It ejects it no problem. The disc drive hasn’t been used for quite a while and the entrance is a bit dusty so am wondering if that is the problem or if it is broken. I have tried reseting the Xbox a couple of times but that hasn’t helped. Any ideas what I can do?

    It looks like it is a hardware issue, try to clean the dust to see if it fixes the problem.

    If it doesn't, then I would recommend taking the console to a repair store nearby as I assume it is no longer under warranty.

    the disc drive in the replacement xbox one console i received from microsoft makes a whirring noise when inserting a disc... only while it is accepting the disc. sounds like it might be the motor that pulls the disc inside the drive. anyone having any issues

    Disc not being read

    If the discs are for XBOX One just try holding the disc a little when you put it in. Let the console tug it then let go. This makes sure the disc sits fully back in the drive. Some drives seemed to not put the disc in the right place.
