Xbox One disc drive failure rate

Anyone know the disc drive failure rate for the Xbox One? My Day One died and I am having to send it in. MS seemed to be aware of the issue and even have a place on this site for it. I had two different 360s have disc drive failures and MS even admitted
that there were way more failures than were acceptable for the 360 and I was wondering what the rate is with the One. If it is high i wonder why there hasn't been a big stink about it like the 360. Getting frustrated with sending in my consoles.

    :)

  2. xbox one hardware failure rate ?

Uh my Xbox One is a day one edition and it is still working. I never used the disc drive yet but I heard there have been tons of issues with faulty disc drive (I hope I won't experience that *crosses fingers*). I know for one thing the failure rate is much
lower than the Xbox 360 Pro/Arcade/Elite/Slim

Well the slim is basically garbage

I've heard the failure rate on optical drives is still pretty high. I've had one die on my already (plus my slim disc drive just stopped opening, but fortunately it was still under warranty), so I always make sure to install games to the hard drive and never
use my 360 to watch DVD's anymore.

I honestly don't think it's anywhere near as high as the 360 was, early 360's were a joke.

If it was high I think we would see a bid uproar on various sites, doesn't seem to bad the tbh. I'm not saying I haven't seen it mentioned, just not to often.

11 million consoles (estimated sold).. possibly (guess) 20K bad drives will only be .2%. Even 100K bad drives will only be 1%. The average ROF on all electronics is about 15%, higher on newer releases from new to 4 years.

by comparison, the average PC has a ROF of almost 31%

and you are worried about 1%?

I'm sure it actually on affects a very small % maybe 1%? It sucks you've had such bad luck though. I went through more than half a dozen Xbox 360s so I know the feeling, my Xbox One so far though has been perfect.
