Xbox One Disc Drive Failing?

So my day one launch console is starting to have issues reading discs. I will put in a disc and it says that it is having trouble reading it. I take it out and put it back in a couple of times and it finally reads it. Shouldn't this be covered by the replacement
program with the disc drive errors?

and it should be covered under warranty as I thought they had a standard 1 year? Cutting it close though, you might also want to check the return policy where you bought it from. You can arrange a repair through here:

I am not talking about the standard warranty for repair. I am talking about the specific program they had to replace the consoles with new ones that had the disc drive problems.

 

I believe that would have only been valid during the beginning, I mean you can contact phone support and try and find out, I don't think you'll get an answer here:

No, what I'm saying is if you want an official answer quickly, contact phone support.

If you want to wait around here for an official answer, you might not get it as quickly, though I can foresee them saying that offer was only valid for day one buyers or within a certain period of time around the release of the console.

I've had a quick search and cannot find any related information about this so called 'replacement program', they've only said that during the release window, they will replace faulty disc drive consoles as it's affecting only a small amount of users. They're
not just going to replace faulty disc drives on a year old console or if not within the warranty period.

Just because you didn't get what you wanted, doesn't make these forums worthless.

 

contact support and tell them you want "advance exchange" otherwise you will have to wait 3 weeks or more for a repair.

 

In order to do an advanced exchange they want to put a $400 "hold" on your credit card. Yeah, they can forget that. I need someone from the official support to respond to me in a private message on this as soon as possible. And to DigitalAssassin - my warranty
is good until February according to the official Xbox device registration website.

 

heh. my disc failed in about two weeks when I bought my xbox one last year when it first came out. took about a month for it to come back. just as well I also paid extra to have an extended warranty put on it too, since the blu ray drive is showing signs
of failing...

The only "replacement program" for disc drive errors I can think of is the replacement of consoles that have been identified as not being able to read discs at all and receiving a specific error code. If you check your

system's OS and you are on the current release of the operating system, your console is not part of this group of consoles.
