Xbox one disc drive constantly running

The disc should spin up for an initial read. The latest update to the copy protection system also allows the game to perform disc checks while the game is running, however the game disc should not be spinning at 12x constantly.

Compare the sound of the drive spinning when the game is installed to the HDD to the sound of the drive when the game is not installed to the HDD. There should be a difference.

The issue is, even if i install a game to harddrive (no matter what game i put in and install) and then runs it (hdd icon shows up as source to run from) the game still plays from the disc (i know it always bootup from the drive) and wont stop, so the game
plays from the disc constantly instead of the hdd.

Yup, when it boots up it will check to see if there is a disc in the drive. Also, it's not really a good idea to leave discs in the drive. You should always take the discs out when you are finished with it. Leaving the disc in could cause the drive to constantly
read and cause wear and tear on the drive.

If you find that your console is consistently having issues reading a disc (especially if it is one particular disc), I would recommend installing the game to your hard drive. What this will do is allow your xbox to simply read a small portion of the disc
to verify rights, rather than having to constantly access the disc to load the game.
