  1. Xbox One Disaster!

    Hello, i have been a customer of xbox/microsoft for many years now, I bought my xbox one on january 8th, The first console i had to send away to germany because it kept freezing at the green screen aka Green Screen of Death. so when my console was returned
    to me 14 days later, i turned it on hoping to finally play some xbox to find that the disc tray was making extremely loud grinding noises, so i called up xbox support and had to send it away AGAIN!, this time they sent me a new console, I turned on this console
    to find the same problem with the disc tray, the extremely grinding noise again! Xbox offered me advanced exchange which is totally ridiculous, after having spend £500 on a console they want to freeze £392 in my account which i dont have! This is becoming
    a joke xbox SORT it!

    :)

  3. Forbes xbox one disaster

    Ah well.. If some suit from Forbes said it.. The blokes probably never touched a console in his life. You do realise that this gen has produced some fantastic looking games.. Even now.. all these years since they came out. All running on 512mb of RAM..
    Now ram alone isn't the only factor of course but whether you're packing 5 gig or 8 DD this or D that.. gpu..zzzz..

    The fact is that they are gonna be significantly better and more powerful than the systems they replace. To be honest.. That's all a lot of people really need? Otherwise.. If You have to have the absolute best graphics at all costs.. I'd be buying a PC?

    I don't work for Microsoft and I'm very sorry you've had your issues, but I would just like to explain how the advanced exchange works.

    The advanced exchange as you know is designed to insure you get a working console quicker. The £391 freeze on your debit or credit card isn't a charge. You won't get this money taken from your bank account. The exchange is free. The only way you would have
    to pay is if you fail to return the faulty console within the timescale Xbox support has given - which is within 14 days of receiving the replacement.

    15. ADDITIONAL TERMS FOR ADVANCE EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

    In certain countries, Microsoft offers an Advance Exchange Programme, under which you can receive a console prior to delivering your console back to Microsoft for service, with certain conditions. If you want to participate in the Advanced Exchange Programme,
    Microsoft will send you a replacement Xbox Product (the “Advance Exchange Product”) before you send your Xbox Product to us, under the following conditions:

    • Your Xbox Product must comply with the terms of the warranty, guarantee or extended service contract;
    • Your Xbox Product will not qualify for this programme if, after we receive it, there is evidence of physical damage, tamper, abuse, etc. or other exclusions from your Xbox Product’s warranty, guarantee or extended service contract;
    • The Advance Exchange Product will be delivered to you in a box that includes a
      prepaid delivery label; and
    • You must use the prepaid delivery label to return the Xbox Product for which you received an Advanced Exchange Product and are requesting service. You will need to return your original Xbox Product in the same
      box within 14 days of receiving the replacement product.
    • To guarantee that the original Xbox Product is returned, we will need to take your credit card number.
      YOUR CREDIT CARD WILL NOT BE CHARGED, provided you return the original Xbox Product (with the serial number that you have provided to us) within 14 days of receiving the Advanced Exchange Product.

    • A nominal fee may appear on your card from Xbox Service, verifying that funds are available in your account (the nominal fee will be refunded); this is not a charge. We will only charge you the replacement
      and handling fee indicated below if: (1) we do not receive the original Xbox Product back within 14 days from the date that you took delivery of the replacement product as indicated by the carrier’s tracking system; (2) if the product is not under warranty;
      and/or (3) if the product is excluded from warranty or service (has indication of tampering or physical damage).

    What if for some reason it didn't get back to them within 14 days what if it was 3 weeks cuz of weather. If you called them after they received the defective system return the money to you?

  6. If I understand it correctly the pre-paid return is via UPS. You give them a call and they pick it up from you. There should be no reason why you can't return the defective machine within the given timeframe.

    I am currently in the middle of an advanced exchange. UPS are fantastic. I got my replacement within 48 hours of ordering it, less than 24 hours after it was dispatched. The replacement I was sent was faulty so I had to return it, I registered on the UPS
    website and scheduled a collection from my house, the UPS driver was knocking on my door within 15 minutes! I hadn't even finished boxing up the console!! I followed the tracking number and just over 24 hours after leaving my house it arrived in Frankfurt,
    although this was a Friday so it wasn't delivered till the Xbox facility till first thing Monday morning, but basically it takes about 2 days. The faulty replacement was back with Xbox 5 days after I received it.

    A word of warning though, for some reason Xbox did not know the return tracking number, only the one for when they initially shipped to me, from the 6 calls/online chats I've had with Xbox Support since, it sounds like they have misplaced the faulty console
    themselves at their own facility despite clearly acknowledging they received it, tomorrow will be 2 weeks since they received it yet they remain unable to process another advanced exchange, furthermore on Friday I received an email telling me they are going
    to charge me the £326 for failure to return. So be warned, things can go wrong here, but if they do it's Xbox's incompetence you are more likely to fall victim to, UPS service is excellent.

    Xbox One Disaster!

    I've had a noisy PSU that has grown increasingly louder since day one. I went through Microsoft's ridiculous warranty policies, and after hearing about the horror stories here regarding advanced replacement and whatnot, I decided to just deal with it. Eventually,
    it got distracting enough that I didn't want to deal with it anymore. I contact Amazon, rather than Microsoft, and explained the situation to them. They graciously offered to give me 20% back to seek part replacement from Microsoft and for the inconvenience.
    I took it. The following day, the whole console died. Wouldn't turn on. Totally dead. I again contacted Amazon, and, seemingly aware of the situation with Microsoft, they offered a switch, despite being outside of the return window. Needless to say, I had
    a brand new Xbox One at my door yesterday, with my broken one going back to Amazon today. I made the phone call Monday. I had to give up my Day One controller (which was falling apart) and the black box, but in return, I got what appears to be a sturdy controller
    and an absolutely silent system. If you have ANY way of avoiding Microsoft's repair service, I highly recommend it.
