    XBOX one dimming.


    My XBOX has recently started dimming while watching movies and YouTube. It's very frustrating because I have to keep a controller powered up and toggle it every few minutes. How do I fix it?

    Screen dimming during games

    Hello, I am pointing out an issue with the screen dimming feature on Xbox One.

    When trying to play Fibbage, a game which doesn't require controller input as it uses a browser to answer questions, the screen keeps dimming unless you fondle the controller to keep the console happy it knows you are there.

    I believe there used to be an option to disable the dimming feature on Xbox 360, but of course there isn't one on the Xbox One.

    Hey there Shards!

    I'm sorry to hear about the issue. Have you tried
    power cycling     your console yet? If not, start there and see if that does the trick. If not, go ahead and try

    factory resetting     your console (while keeping your games and apps) and see if resolves things for you.

    Start there and let us know if that helps or not. XBOX one dimming. :)

    Hi Ashley,

    Try this to see if it fixes your issue with dimming.

    You can change dimming option in Settings. Just head to Settings > Preferences > Idle Options.

    Here, you can change the amount of time before the Xbox One will dim the screen, with options of 2, 10, 20, 30, 45, and 60 minutes. You can also use the option on the left to disable the aforementioned idle notifications if you prefer a more private experience.

    It’s generally best to power off your devices when you know you won’t be using them soon, but this option to manually trigger the Xbox One’s idle screen dimming is handy for times when you need to quickly step away but don’t want to wait on a complete power
    cycle.

    My one dims too after 10 minutes.. Doesn't matter if it's HBO, YouTube, twitch, casting, it dims.

    So dumb.
